thank you for this video. I know you are doing the blog for yourself, but you are doing a lot of people good by being REAL on here. I first discovered your blog when I was pregnant with my second child and my husband left for Navy boot camp. I kept thinking, if anything ever happened to him I hope I can be as strong as Matt is.

Thank you for sharing. You are a great person, and a great dad!

Hi Matt,
I just saw you on the rachael ray show. I just wanted to say that I think you are doing a great job. If that was myself in your shoes I would have just rolled up into a ball and that is where I would still be. I am a new mom of a beautiful 6 month old boy named Nicholas. When I was watching you on the show one thing came to my mind is that your little girl has the best father in this world. You are doing a great job and just keep on doing what you are doing. When she grows up matt she will not only see her dad but she will see her best friend and her hero. Because that is what you are to her is her hero. That is all I wanted to say, and your wife is right now looking down at you and seeing the love you have for your daughter and she is very happy.

Best of luck,
Dawn

Matt, I think I just watched a rerun of Rachael Ray with you and Mate on it. What a story!!! You are doing a Great Job. I was just going to make a suggestion of joining a at home dads group. If you are at home a lot with Mate, this is a great thing. I work, but I am home with my son all day and I joined an at home dads group. If is good for my son and for me. He gets to play and I get to talk to adults at the same time. You can go to demoinesdads.com. Now www. is needed. This will give you an idea of what it is like.
You take care and enjoy life with your daughter. God Bless Timothy

I watched you share your story on Rachel Ray today. Your story really hit home. I became high risk after I delivered my son in 2004 at 22wks 6 days. He survived a month and 10 days. Then I had my daughter at 35wks 6 days. Recently, on July 2nd I gave birth to my second daughter. She too was a preemie at 36 wks 3 days. However, I almost lost my life after giving birth. I have a blood clotting disorder that the doctors were treating me for however, I hemphraged instead. My husband agreed for me to have an emergency hysterectomy or I would have died. I spent 3 days in ICU receiving blood transfusions, etc.. I just want you to know that you are an inspiration to me. Your story is such a great reinforcer for me as I struggle at times to cope with what my outcome was or could of been. You are a strong man and your wife, Liz would be and is proud of you. I send my best to you and your daughter. She is beautiful.

I have been inspired by your blog for quite sometime. I first heard about it when you appeared on the Rachel Ray Show and have followed it since. How you have turned a tragedy into something so much more, is truly touching. I, too, have suffered loss. I gave birth to a son when I was 17, who was wanted and loved but left us unexpectedly just 12 days after he was born, on February 14, 2000. My grief was blinding at first and still 9 years later, there are days that I feel like it takes everything I have to move forward. I also, had a group of people (not nearly this large) that helped me through it. I went on to finish school and become a registered nurse and have been blessed with two more wonderful, healthy children. Your blog is inspiring and touching. You are building a lasting tribute to your love for Liz and showing Madeline how important she is. What a beautiful parting gift Liz left for you! Maddy will always know how important both her and Liz will always be to you. I imagine your wife is looking down on you smiling...
