   I will be honest I had never heard of you until Rachael Ray. But I will tell you i am fortunate to have to husband here but with him being deployed to Iraq for six months when my daughter was born. I think you have done a great job with her. I chose not to let my husband being away change my focus of my daughter. I will not lie it was tough working and having a child care place take care of my baby. But all I could do was keep myself busy so i wouldn’t have time to stop and think about what was happening. She is beautiful and looks just like Liz. I wish you the best of luck. My daughter is currently 5 and thinking about not having my husband there almost every step of the way would kill me. I admire and respect you and have a new found respect for my husband and new light on how lucky I am to be here with my daughter.

   I just began reading your book today….you are a beautiful man and father. I’m not the most religious person in any way but the first thing that comes to mind when I think of you and your daughter is, may god bless you and Maddy in every single way. You have touched my heart forever. Thank you so much for letting us into your life and sharing your story.

   ^^ Liz is actually his late wife (or he’d even probably be okay with just “wife”), not his ex-wife. I know it’s a minor thing, but it can be painful for someone who has lost a spouse to death to hear them equated with divorce, you know? Two very different scenarios.

   But she certainly was a beautiful woman, wasn’t she? Madeline looks just like her. Good luck to Matt keeping those boys away…
