pink explosion.

pink explosion

there’s been a

pink explosion in my house.

and not

(as some smartasses have suggested)

because i washed madeline’s

whites with her reds.

(i’m really good at laundry and would never make that mistake).

the clothes have been coming in pink.

do they make

little girl clothes

in any color but pink?

maybe 5% of her clothes

are made of non-pink fabric.

and if they’re not pink,

there’s some pink accessory on them.

don’t get me wrong

i don’t mind the pink explosion

(liz would have absolutely loved it).

i’m just glad we decided

to paint the nursery

green.

I just happen to have a little girl myself, and let me tell you, the pink will never end. I actually learned pretty quick that it was actually nice having all pink because it makes it dang near impossible to put together a non-matching outfit. Since we are both guys, this is a good thing.

Keep up the good work Matt, your doing awesome.

I got so sick of all the pink clothes that I started buying baby boy clothes that I thought were “gender neutral” enough that we could get away with it. Until I noticed the little fly’s sewn into the fronts… As if a 3 month old is going to use a the fly in the front of the pants! But then people would come up to us and say “What’s your son’s name?” And I’d have to say “… Ummm, her name is Isabel”

Pink’s good though. Like Adam says, you can’t go wrong trying to put outfits together. One less thing to worry about!

    Hi Matt,

I am just getting caught up on your story, I am terribly sorry for your loss. Just from reading your blog I can tell you have an amazing daughter, who is fortunate to have an incredible father. Keep up the good work with Madeline and take care of yourself.

…and I second Adam’s comments on pink clothes.

We love Maddy in pink or any color. We love her daddy too!
You’re proving to be an awesome dad, Matt. Keep up the loving work and the wonderful postings to keep us closer to you than the mile from MN would seem to be!

    God bless you two always!
