saturday.

amazing day.
i need sleep,
so
a more
significant update
will be here
in a few hours.

not ready for this.

just got back from a
get-together at josh and jane’s house.

a real mn meal was served…
white castle burgers and chicken-ring sandwiches
and
hamm’s beer

also,
it’s 33 degrees and snowing.
(not too sure what anya thinks about the mn now).
lots of friends.
lots of stories.
now i’m back
sitting in the basement
of my mom’s house
unable to sleep.
the memorial service for liz
is [...]

friday – flight to the mn.

sitting on the plane
deb on my left,
anya on my right.
can’t help but cry
most of the flight.
after all of our travels,
i really expect
to turn to my
left or right
and see
liz
sitting
where deb and anya are.
said to deb,
“i never imagined taking this flight”
she just smiled.
then i started to miss
madeline.
so we watched some videos
that i’d loaded
on to my [...]

forgotten encounter – thursday.

forgot to mention
what happened
when i went to
the doctor with madeline,
a woman sitting next to me
on the phone,
talking very loudly
(to a presumably disinterested party)
about nothing.
when she hung up,
she turned to me
(with madeline in a carseat on my lap, anya to my right)
and said,
“are you wearing your wife’s rings because they don’t [...]
