didn’t get a lot of
sleep so when maddy
woke up for the morning,
johnny utah took care
of her while i tried to rest.
i had a shitty morning,
confronting things i didn’t
want to confront.
felt like a hacker as
i accessed all of
liz’s financial records
so i could pay
some bills.
so much more to do,
but i was
saved by the doorbell.

madeline slept for a solid
6.5 hours without
waking up
(i consider that “sleeping through the night” ’cause i don’t even sleep 6.5 consecutive hours).

spent the morning
talking to johnny utah about
stuff and things.
we headed to lunch
around 11:30.

we woke up early
to get together
with our stranger friends
for a playdate
at the coffee shop
in the eagle rock.
these folks are nothing
short of amazing.
they shared stories
and advice
and were never overbearing.
they adopted us as
part of an incredible community,
even though we don’t
quite fit in
(madeline’s a little younger than most of the kids).
