I have a friend who says you have to save curse words so that when you need one they have all the impact they can bring. I think saying this fucking sucks bring that kind of an impact. Mostly though, I think you can be more creative, come up with a more descriptive word. Of course, when you have a baby in the house, you lose the ability to think and just have to use what ever words come to you.

You are an amazing dad. Bless you for taking on the job so you can enjoy the benefits.

I just wanted to send a Happy Father's Day wish to you (even though I am a day late). I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now and I can't wait to check each morning to see how you are doing and the latest pictures of your beautiful Madeline. I am so sorry about your loss and I think you are doing an amazing job being a new father. I wish you continued strenth to make it through the days ahead. I have a little girl who will be 8 months old on Wednesday and I know things are not easy and I can't imagine doing it on my own. Your strength has been an inspiration to so many around the world and your Madeline is blessed to have such an amazing Dad.

Happy Father's Day Matt!

I'm Liz's cousin's Matthew's ex-girlfriend, and I've been lurking since I heard Liz passed. First, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine what it feels like. I do know Liz was an amazing spirit. I got to see it first hand at your wedding (when I met the two of you) and heard it from Candee and Tom. I only wish I got to hang out with the two of you more.

I just wanted to re-introduce myself and tell you that I am so very proud and inspired and in awe of you and Madeline. There isn't a day that goes by since this happened that I don't think of you, Liz and Madeline. I think this blog is such an amazing connector and such an amazing way to honor Liz. And, on this Father's Day, I just want to say thank you ... for your stories, for your blog, for your perservance, for your strength and courage, for Madeline and for your realness. (I love the word fuck). You are an inspiration.

Praying for you and Madeline always,
Kimberly

Hi Matt - Happy Father's Day - hope you had a spectacular day!

I wanted to comment to the poster that asked about Madeline's yellow outfit from the other day - if I can be so bold, I think it might be BabyGap - I believe I saw the little brown bear on the heart. That is my novice opinion! Hope that helps!

Madeline - Happy 12 weeks sweet baby girl!

Hi, Matt. I've been silently reading for blog for over a month now and I think you're amazing! Happy first father's day! You deserve it. Madeline has the best day a little girl can have.

Hi Matt!
I read your entry at Glamour the other day and ever since I can't stop reading your blog. I am so very sorry about your loss. Liz was beautiful and her beauty has clearly been passed on to your daughter. Madeline is absolutely gorgeous and well I know you have expressed concerned about not being a good father, you are amazing and brave and strong and only hope my children will one day have a father like you. You are truly a role model. I may be an idiot but I'm reading about all these people sending you packages and I as well would like to send something to Madeline but do not know where to send it. If any fellow readers or you yourself can let me know where to send a package that would be most appreiated.

Happy Father's Day Matt! You are doing a terrific job and Madeline is so very lucky to have a father like you. You are both in my thoughts, prayers, and heart.

Love, Lauren
