Someone posted a link to your blog in Twitter the other day and I have been making my way through your archives ever since. You are an amazing father.
I just had to comment on the stupidity of the Angels new name. They SHOULD lose for trying to be in two places at once – and for their stadium looking like Disneyland (and I like Disneyland). A baseball stadium is not a theme park.

Matt, don’t hate me, but I hate baseball. Oddly enough, when I was little I wanted to be the first female to play professional baseball. Weird, huh?

Maddy looked adorable, as usual. You are the best dad ever. Those silly trophies in the store that say “World’s Greatest Dad” should have your likeness on them.

I was just sent a link to your blog, and I must agree with you… you’re awesome. I have to admit… I’m an Angels fan (and also despise the lame new team name… I refuse to call them that – I live in the Bay Area and think it would be like having the San Francisco Athletics of Oakland. Super Lame.), but congrats on the win anyhow. Enjoy the trip to SF for yet another baseball game. You should teach Maddy how to keep score. I learned how so I could do it for my husband’s softball team and I think it’s a lot of fun. I’m dork… I know… Just wanted to say that I enjoy your blog and really related to the love of baseball thing. Have a happy 4th!

i think all us Redsox fans need to unite and outfit that girl in some cool gear *Evil grin* actually as long as she grows up to be a baseball fan in general i’ll be happy..

i mostly lurk here… i’m in month 6 of a high risk pregnancy myself and this blog gives me hope that if something happens my husband and daughter (and soon to be son!) will be ok… not great, and most definatly devistated, but they would be able to pick up the pieces and go on with life.. does that make sense to anyone? matt and maddy give me hope…

Matt, I’m really glad you’re letting others take photos of you and Maddy together at various outings. It’s important that she has photos of the two of you while you’re out on your many adventures. I know how easy it is to fall into a routine where you’re the main photographer and then you end up with pix of everyone else with none of yourself in them. I was a single parent to my daughter for many years until I got married three years ago and too few of my photos from back then have me in them, just a billion of my daughter alone or with family and friends.

You’re doing an awesome job. I’m sure Liz is very proud of you both.

Matt- You are SUPER awesome! I have hated having to check the blog on my iPhone. I can never see the pictures very well. I do have to tell you I was checking the blog even while I was waiting in line at Disney World. Madeline is getting cuter every day. Good Work!

@K8 in the N: Your post reminds me a lovely family trip we had to Colorado one year. My mom is just fine flying, so long as she has valium and a couple drinks. So there we are in the Denver airport, three kids and mom (dad was getting the rental car), and mom starts trying to get our luggage, except she’s, how did you put it, “tranq’d up to her ying-yang” so she’s not recognizing any of our luggage and instead picking all sorts of random pieces. Quite the scene.
