Hi Matt. I found you from one of my co-workers who is a former classmate of yours. I have to say that you are doing a wonderful job!! My cousin in recently a single dad, and I had to e-mail him your link.

The storms last week were pretty intense, and then sunshine followed. It was great. Now if the humidity would go away we would be fabulous!

Wow...that really brought out a whole new bunch of commenters, including me.

I don't know how I found you but it has something to do with the fact that my little sister died unexpectedly on March 13th of this year so I'm right there with you on the fuck Tuesday (Thursday in my case) thing. It totally sucks and I suspect it always will. She was awesome and I miss her desperately.

But back to the topic...yes!!! We are like MacGyver...we can do anything...parents of small people can do anything!!! I have a very fun airplane/puke story consisting of a Lithuanian baby and his extremely apologetic parents on a seven hour European flight, but that is not the point so I will not share it. I'll just say this: "Rock on parent of a small person!!!"

My own children are big now (24,19 &16) but I remember the MacGyver days like they were yesterday. I wonder if baby wipes are the answer to world peace. They sure do come in handy and they sure do solve a lot of problems.
I wish you well and I am deeply sorry for you loss.

Asalamalaykom,

Pregnancy and "morning sickness" truly prepares us to acknowledge that our bodies (and our lives) aren't ours.

As for parenthood...you know that you've reached parenthood when you actually want someone else's puke in your hands.

I have lotsa puke stories. I wanted to tell them yesterday, but I was... WAIT for it... PUKING!!! I kid you not. While you guys were talking about barfing, I was actually barfing. And I so wanted to join in on the fun, what with Christa getting "firsties", Katy calling Christa a "Jill-fucker" (BWAHAHAHAHAH!), Xbox4NappyRash referring to his "dickey belly" (WTF, Xbox?!?! LOL), Matt's MacGyver reference, and em's totally gross bus-puke story! Yep, quite a day on the blog, quite a day.

I'm feeling better today, but still not good enough to go to work. Yay! Maybe I'll finally read HP7...

lots of love to all,

Long time reader... always a fabulous read... you give me hope about our world every single day!

I just had to comment that I saw you're listening to Tapes N' Tapes.. are they not the funkiest thing? I saw them twice opening for The Futureheads... you should give them a listen too... they even have a song all about being a robot!

Thank you for your blogs - they're beautiful! You're doing a kick ass job and I'm sure you'll continue that way!

You rock, pop. And, you're a good grandson for flying all the way home after having JUST been there for the wedding and Madeline's first pool party ... hope the fire station was a cool locale for the funeral. It's a really cool space.
