I just wanted to say I’ve been reading of your journey (through life and travel) and thought those picture of Lake Louise were just gorgeous! I went to Banff…actually had the pleasure of being put up at The Banff Springs Hotel, but when we visited Lake Louise, we were with a tour bus and didn’t get to hike at all! Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos…if only we’d had a chance to actually get AROUND the lake! All of this doesn’t really matter, but just thought I’d share. Love from Princeton, MN!

Just recently found your blog and it helps me get through my work day.
I live two hours from “the” Banff. Too bad I didn’t find this sooner.
I have lived in Alberta my whole life and have been to Lake Louise a lot. I have never walked around it or knew there was a teahouse in the mountains. Makes you appreciate what you have close at hand. Which is why I love your blog – it makes me appreciate what I have close at hand – my family.

Hi- I just happened upon your blog a couple weeks back. I live in Mpls, and am an alum of CSB/SJU. I saw the article in the strib last spring about the tragic loss of your wife, and the joyous birth of your baby girl. My heart goes out to you as you navigate the journey of parenthood without your wife.

Just wanted to say that your strength, courage, and love for your daughter are inspiration for all parents out there. Madeline is an adorable baby, and it’s great that you have traveled with her so much. Banff looks like an amazing place to visit- and an amazing location to photograph. Take care.

I just came across your blog today. I wanted to say (and I know you’ve heard this many times before but I’m gonna say it anyway) how deeply sorry I am about Liz. That is a horrible way to lose someone. No one way is easy, but to suddenly lose her without warning, 24 hours after Madeline was born. I can’t begin to imagine your pain and heartache.

I also wanted to say that I, too, am a single parent. My daughter was born late 2007 and have been raising her myself. I know how hard it can be. But I also know how rewarding it is when they reach a major milestone. Just wait until she says “Dada”…that will make your heart sing!

Well anyway, I’m babbling now. I really did just want to tell you that you are in my thoughts.
