As a single mom, I applaud you. Cuddle that little girl, give her lots of hugs, dance with her, kiss her and make sure she knows the world is love. My baby girl, born one month after yours is my world. I didn’t have to cope with the loss of my partner, that’s so hard, I can hardly imagine. I do have a sense however of what it means to parent alone, all I can say is love love love that little girl, read, sing, dance, walk, spend time with her as much as possible. They are so vulnerable and sweet these little babies.

life is just so full of irony. in the midst of this enormous loss, have you bothered to take a moment out to be proud of yourself? to look at how much you are doing for others? i know you constantly acknowledge the people that donate to the fund, send gifts and lend support…but do you GET how you are taking such a fucking unbelievable tragedy and turning it into something cool? i didn’t know liz but my heart breaks every time i see a cute video of maddi or a picture. she looks EXACTLY like mom!!

anyhow, i just think you deserve a huge high fucking five for taking this and turning it into something positive. you KNOW that you are doing right by Liz and you KNOW that she is smiling from wherever she is – and she has got to be so incredibly proud of you. you cannot ever quit this blog because i may die without knowing what is going on in your life. seriously.

Are you kidding??!! Matt, don’t sell yourself short! You have great insight to offer- for single parents or not. I am amazed at how freaking fast you can get out the door last minute! You know how long it takes me to get out…last week I made 3 trips back in to get things I had had left behind! ( At least one of them wasn’t my daughter )
Anyway, congrats and I am sure you’ll be great!
