I think you are truly amazing. Found your site through Jackie, who is a friend of mine. Lost my husband 14 months ago to a sudden heart attack. I like to read your site every so often, to know I am not alone.

Your daughter couldn’t have a better daddy and your wife must be very proud.

You have amazing strength and couldn’t set a better example to all other father’s out there.

When Madeline was standing on her changing table, I noticed how long she’s gotten!

I’m so happy to hear you’re paying it forward!

I was a single mom for 7 years and when I had my second child, I donated a good portion of stuff to our local emergency pregnancy place as well as to friends and friends of friends who were in need.

I feel so grateful for all that I’ve been given and want to pass along what I can. Your blog seems to do the same for people who read it. You’ve been through a lot in your life and in the past 7+ months and sharing your experiences helps.

Matt, as someone who received a lung tx in July I had always thought I’d write a note to the donor family, but after reading your comment, I can also see your point about continuing to get correspondence … I know recipients must wait at least a year to write to the donor’s family, and of course it is their option to write back… After having this life changing gift given to me, I feel like it’s only appropriate for a thank you… I hope when I do write to the family, it brings them peace, not upset… As also, with you… You are doing an incredible job with Madeline… I can only imagine Liz would be incredibly proud of you.
