saturday, sunday.

our first real
weekend together.
the last 6 months
have been one
continuous weekend, but
now it’s back to
what normal people
consider a weekend…
trying to pack in
as much
stuff as possible
before heading back
to work and daycare
on monday.
so we got an
early start on saturday.
a little rice cereal
for madeline before
heading out
the door to meet
some strangers friends
for some breakfast
at a place known
for giant pancakes.

of our
new life
all ran together.
***mornings***
early mornings
up before 6:30,

out the door
by 9:00.
on wednesday i
dropped maddy off
at daycare.
i handed her to lupe,
(the daycare woman who loves my baby’s smile),
who was standing
in the front yard.
madeline looked at
me like i was
abandoning her.
i kissed her twice,
said goodbye and

tuesday.

(i will catch up).
madeline woke me
up at 6:45.
i tried to get
her to go
back to sleep for
15 minutes but
it was a losing battle.
i went to
the kitchen to heat
up her bottle
and by the time
i got back to
her, she was back
to sleep.
thanks, madeline.
she ended up
sleeping for another
1.5 hours, giving me
enough time
to get ready for
my second day
