woke up to
maddy talking to
herself in her crib.
wished her a
happy 9 months of existence
and smiled at her
for a while until she
reminded me that
what she really
wanted was not
a doting father,
but a bottle.
i fed her and then
handed her off
to the g. grandparents
so that i could
take a shower.
took a long one,
for the first time
in [...]
last week was
a quiet one.
with a busy
week behind us and
two very busy weeks
to come, it was necessary.
plus it rained in
the la for much
of the week so
it was no fun
to be out on
the town.
maddy was less
than thrilled.
mornings were spent
modeling some new outfits.
outfits that
finally fit her.
(holy shit…she’s getting so big).
she also worked [...]
maddy helped mom pick out last year’s christmas tree with a kick from the inside…

and this year she gave me a backhand to the face when she saw the one she wanted.

(i can’t wait until she can talk…this process will be a lot less painful).

we’ve been very busy.
there was a full
week during which
we did almost
nothing but spend all
of our time together
before and after daycare/work,
trying to recover from
the trip to
the mn for thanksgiving.
didn’t go out
at night, except for
a couple of trips
to the record store.
during those evenings
home alone together,
maddy became
rather proficient at sticking
her tongue out
and spitting at me.
