So cool!! I’ll have to catch it on-line since I start WORK (yes WORK) today and won’t be home in time.
Awesome!!
That robot sure gets around. It sure likes the ladies! Looking forward to viewing the clip on line! I guess the robot gets around for a good cause some of the time, is that how it justifies the behavior raising awareness for the foundation?
I love that darn robot.
So great to see that the Liz Logelin Foundation is being featured on CBS and KCAL! Good to see that the robot also managed to get in on the action and score a little face time!!
Can’t wait to see the story!
that robot is awesome!!!
I love that robot!
That’s great. I will have to watch it once they post it to the website. I’m a little far away from LA.
Jennifer in Florida
Ha ha. Love the photo! I was a bit intimidated by the robot. I think he/she was the most unique interview subject to date (sorry, Matt).
I will have to watch it when it’s posted! I don’t get CA tv here in TX!! Loving the robot still!!
Love, Mere
Awesome news!!! I hope Robot got some spotlight!!
I look forward to seeing that report. And y’know…I can never get enough of that robot. lol
even your fucking toys have a more exciting life than me.
Too bad it wasn’t on last week – we were on a mini vacation in Disneyland during your mini-heatwave..oy!
And the robot and reporter – classic!
Congrats on the extra coverage for the Foundation. And, I love the pic of the reporter and the robot.
Awesome, that freakin robot has sure made the rounds eh?
That’s really fantastic
Yay for foundation exposure, can’t wait to see the story online.
oh cool, it’s finally on! I’ll definitely be watching online to see how it turned out!
Saw you today on Rachel Ray (runs a bit behind here in New Zealand compared to the USA), and I have to say kudos to you. Maddy is very obviouslya happy child, well socialised and absolutely gorgeous. Luck and good wishes to you two for the future.
That’s so awesome. That little robot sure has met a lot of people!
Just saw it. Awesome!! Love that you got so much air time. (Oprah – this is how it’s done)
I caught the video on our local station – great piece! I especially loved how you’re teaching Maddie how to kiss & walk!! She’s getting soooo big now! You’re a great father & what a great idea for the lizlogelin foundation! Keep it up!
Great video! Never get tired hearing about the foundation
Beautiful news piece!! rOck on!
I loved the news cast! You and Madeline did a great job!
Amazing Matt. Liz and the whole world are so proud of you. Im sure you have given inspiration to a lot of people.
congrats on the attention the foundation received. you certainly deserve it!
Just watched it on their website. What a great story and soooo much footage of maddy and daddy. Love it! Looks like she’ll be walking very soon. Then another chapter in your life starts – running after maddy!
It’s great what you are doing for widows and widowers.
That was great! Wish I was in the area (my sis actually lives in Long Beach) but seeing it on the web was great. I can’t believe how fast Maddie is growing…you’re such an awesome dad! Reading about all her milestones and seeing them on video (love her giggle video) they all take me back to when I was my nephew’s live-in nanny. So thanks for bringing back some really awesome memories!
Fantastic segment, M & M!
Great to see Miss Maddy in action. And a wonderful way to spread the word about the foundation! w00t!w00t!
I effing love the robot/reporter photo. Awesomeness. I wear my “Robot Love” shirt and I wear it proudly!
Looking forward to watching the video..
You my friend – are amazing. Simply amazing.
btw.. love love LOVE the robot!
Great interview Matt. Maddie looked adorable as always. I think it’s awesome that the foundation is getting so much press.
What a great video |Matt….thanks for sharing the clip for those of us not in the LA
I can’t believe how big Maddie is getting….my daughter just became a walking machine this week at almost 17months…LOL…watch out Matt it brings on a whole new set of independence!!
LOVE the robot picture with the news reporter….classic!!
Just watched the segment….awesome!! And it’s always fun to see Madeline in action : )
I was holding it together pretty well throughout the video….until the end, when they made the comment of the hundreds of pictures you’ve taken of “your girls”….and then they showed the pic of Liz and Maddie together…..and the commentary about it being the best picture you’ve ever taken…..damnit! I was sure I’d heard the story enough to be able to make it without crying……but no….
Once again, you are doing an amazing job, not only with Madeline, but in keeping Liz’s memory alive and well…..if I feel like I knew Liz, just by reading the exerpts you share in cyber-world, I can’t even imagine the beautiful picture you’re painting for Maddie every day…..thank you…1
Just watched the story…so glad I did. I’m a somewhat newer reader (have only commented twice) and didn’t catch you on Oprah or Rachael Ray. And here I was pronouncing your last name totally wrong in my mind! Ooops. I thought it was Lo-Gellin’ (like a felon…lol).
Anyway…LOVED the story!!
Matt, that was a great interview. You have a message to give out that has gradually taken you out of your natural shyness. And I, for one, am happy for that. So neat to see you more relaxed and I love your smile. (You look “so much like Maddy! You even have her smile!”) Remember – your beard tickles as Maddy leans in for a kiss, pats your face, and backs up to reconsider! My girls took awhile to learn to kiss Daddy for the same reason. Maybe by Father’s Day. LOL. Amazing Daddy. Awesome little toddler. And a great interview. Thanks for it all.
awesome segment Matt…
Great job! It seems that you are getting more comfortable in front of the camera. I hope that this gets people interested in donating.
-S.
Just fabulous. Love that there was some “Maddy live” in this one vs. the Oprah segment. What an incredible thing you two are doing to honor Liz. And, of course, the robot picture is spectacular.
You and Madeline are awesome on tv….what a fantastic promotion for the Foundation. Congrats to you! and…she seems to be doing great…what a wonderful job you’re doing as a dad….we all just “wing it” as parents-the most gratifying on the job training there is!
I often come to your site , but never comment. I just like to read how your getting along . Definatly inspiring. Your completley right when you said that women often wonder if thier own husbands would be able to cope . I am not sure if I could anwser that question about my own husband. I am not sure how I would do it , but you just do it . One day at a time. Your daughter is beautiful , and you are definalty not ” fucking it up ” lol . I wish you and Maddy the best !
Laura and her posessed monkeys in Florida
Awww this is awesome. Thanks for sharing. Is your name really LOgelin? I’ve been saying it like ‘log’ elin. Heh. I love your blog it’s my favorite! You’re doing a great job!
Great Story Matt. Maddy is growing so fast….and it made me laugh out loud that she speaks Ewock, just like my Felix (they are 2 weeks apart).
I’m also incredibly happy for you, Maddy and Liz that the Foundation is getting so much press. I think everyone here wishes that the Foundation didn’t need to be….but it does. It never ceases to amaze me what grace can come of tragedy.
PS – the Robot rocks
Awesome! Thanks for posting the link for us other ‘locals’ that wouldn’t of seen it otherwise!
No matter how many times I’ve heard and seen your story (everywhere!), I have the same reaction everytime — disbelief, pride, sorrow, smiling through tears. I love to watch Madeline hang on to you.
Matt, you’re an awesome dad.
what an awesome way to share your story! great maddy footage!
You melt my heart!! Wonderful segment!!
Great interview. Liz would be proud.
AWESOME….what an amazing thing you are doing. Liz would be so proud.
The video was awesome, Matt. Thanks so much for getting it up so quickly. I hope it brings in alot of money for the foundation!
Very nice segment. Madeline’s voice is very sweet cooing in the background. I love the pic of Liz and Madeline.
Btw, I also read MckMama’s blog and I know that your foundation has helped her in this time of need. You are doing good work and your daughter looks like a very healthy, happy, well cared for and loved little girl.
@Matt: a connection to the MN if you want it… there’s an Acura commercial that plays prior to your news story. Tom Barnard, the DJ from 92KQRS does the voiceover. het.
What a great clip. And may I say…how much healthier do you look now than last summer…?! You’ve filled back out, no more dark circles under your eyes…you’ve come a long way, son. I’m so proud of you!
Great work! I love that Madeline slept through most of your taping! Hope that you get a lot of hits and donations.
Thanks for posting the video Matt. Since I’m not in the area it was great to be able to watch it. Seeing Maddy walk with you was awesomesauce, she’s getting to be more of a little lady every day. What a great picture of the news reporter with the robot! I guess I’ve been reading the blog so long that it doesn’t suprise me at all that you took a picture!
Matt, that is such a sweet video.
Thanks… I’m fucking bawling my eyes out at work. I’d call you an ass, but that’s rude.
The video is precious……
P.S. I like the new photos of Maddy at the top of your page! She looks wonderful – so big, strong, happy, and bright. Can I ask you something? Why do you call your mom Grandma Broccoli? Have a fab day!
Awesome story! You’re doing such an amazing job with Madeline and Liz would be so proud of you! Love the picture of the reporter with the Robot – that’s classic!
Love the news footage, hope that it really helps the foundation and once again you never cease to amaze me and bring me to tears with your story. I often wonder how my husband would do if placed in your situation and I am not totally confident that I can say he would be doing so well. You are a sweet, devoted and loving father to Miss Madeline. You and Maddy are an adorable duo. Take care!!!
That’s really wonderful! Great segment on you and the wonderful foundation you created.
Awsome piece Matt. Great job! You have a lot to be proud of. I love the kisses Maddy is starting to give you. So precious!
PS. Where do you buy your awesome sneakers?
Fantastic segment and love seeing new video of you and Maddy. I too, thought I could watch without crying, but the picture at the end got me as always. You and Maddy are a beautiful pair and what you’re doing is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome clip! You superstar YOu! hahah.
totally off-topic but thought i’d share something that brings 2 of your favorite things (minus Madeline) together:
BACON BEER!!!!!
http://www.baconunwrapped.com/2007/10/oktoberfest-bacon-bier.html
Very nice segment. I wish I could do something as wonderful…or even close to it. I hope the days are getting a little less painful for you. You should be very proud of the foundation you’ve created. Not to mention that you’ve created it while caring for a wonderful (and ACTIVE) baby girl. That’s challenge enough in itself.
Just got to watch the segment. It’s great as expected. You are doing such an amazing thing in Liz’s name. I am so glad you are getting some media attention for it, hopefully it will raise some addtional funds to be put to good use. Love the kisses that Maddy is starting to give you, so sweet.
You both look great and so happy together. Keep up the awesome job Matt!
Awesome job, Matt! It is great that people are finding out about the foundation. You guys are too cute in the video! Thanks for sharing your life with us!
awesome segment. and as always, an Inspiration to many.
Great piece and so glad Maddy got some air time too!
That is a TERRIFIC piece, Matt! I almost think that it was more powerful then Oprah (is there such a thing?!?!) They really captured you three. Many tears. Reminds us all why we love you guy so much! The foundation certainly should make you proud. It makes me proud to know you.
I just watched the segment!! I got to say it again and again!! You are doing such an amazing job with Maddy! And what you are doing in Liz’s name is so Awesome!! You are helping so many in need, you should be so proud of yourself! Im sure this was great for your foundation!!!
Just heard all american pork products are safe, i am sure you are thrilled.
The last line of the story started my tears flowing. That picture of Liz admiring her beautiful daughter truly is the best picture you have ever taken. Hugs to you and Miss M.
thanks for sharing. you are doing an amazing job in liz’s name and with maddy. liz would be soooo proud of you!
Awesome segment!!
Thanks for sharing the link for your East Coast fans / followers. Everytime I see the picture of Liz meeting Madeline it brings me to tears…..such a beautiful moment that you captured. Keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts and prayers – take care.
Dang. You and your blog always making me blubber at the keyboard.
Great segment. Madeline’s voice is just adorable.
I thought, and still think, that Ophrah missed the whole point…half the team wasn’t on screen – so she missed the dynamics; and, she barely gave time to the other third of your life – so she didn’t allow you to present Liz or the foundation with your heartfelt love. Rachel Ray did. CBS2 did. You do. So Ophrah’s tunnel vision aced her and her audience out of a special glimpse into your amazing life. Done.
Wow. They did a really good job. I agree with the poster above – much better than Oprah. It certainly made this pregnant, hormonal lady cry – at my desk of all places. All the boys at my ad agency are giving me a wide berth right now. As always, thanks for sharing Matt.
That was a really good piece! Awesome.
ALSO! I haven’t seen her walking like that, with you holding her arms. That’s crazy. I need to see that immediately!
Matt,
I was especially moved at the 2:44 mark of the segment when Madeline reached out toward the window and your pose together mimicked the photo of you and Liz on the wall. So moving. It was a wonderful segment and I agree a better job than the Oprah piece. But you were great in both. I also agree that you look happy and relaxed and that’s great to see. You deserve it for doing such a remarkable job in raising Madeline and honoring your beautiful wife.
Thanks for sharing the link-it was nice to watch. I know it is not at all how you intended it to be, but you are a wonderful family! I picture you tearing through the house picking things up before the crew got there-my house would never be TV ready!
The things you do each day are amazing….raising your little girl, dealing with the challenges of work all while being a full time daddy. Your stories are amazing and this one is another reason why.
That segment rocks! Awesome!!!
Wonderful report! I have been enjoying your blog after seeing your article in people magazine. I admire your strength and your devotion and only hope that this foundation will give just that to others! Keep Smiling
What a good segment on the Foundation! I especially like at around 2min45sec when Madeline is reaching over your shoulder, and in the background of the wedding picture of Liz in a similar pose.
thanks for sharing the link…
was excited to see her walking too!
I have heard your stories a hundred time and still tear up every damn time. Dang it. You have turned a terrible tragedy into a wonderful thing. Good for you!! And if maddie doesn’t look like her mommy.
Thanks for sharing with us, once again!
Wonderful segment! Loved watching Maddie kiss you and ‘walk’! You are amazing!
wonderful news story. i’m glad that maddie will have LOTS of documentation of your journey and momma, too. i can’t say it enough- bravo daddy! now maddie needs to come to nashville for a playdate with my lil man.
I am now BAWLING…great piece, loved hearing Maddy talk and see her interact with you! Liz is just a smilin’.
P.S. ( My nine year old son wants to know when they are going to make a “tv show of Maddy”..he loves her pictures, especially when there is video, I use it as bribery material to coax him to do his homework!)
Did she passed out with the bottle??? Gosh that’s one thing I really envy you!!!
Well, I’ve skipped classes for the last 2 days to read all of your posts. I’m guessing that my professors won’t count this as an “excused absence.” Well worth it, though, I must say.
Maddy is so fucking adorable! Keep up the good work, Daddy!
P.S. – Final exams are coming up in a few weeks, and I will definitely need something to help me procrastinate. Long posts, filled with pictures and videos, would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance! =)
It just happens to be my last night in LA!!!!
it is by far the best photo………
….*the best*……
great news piece… the story never gets old.. still hits you where it counts everytime……
Matt,
The piece was great! I am so amazed by the things you have accomplished! You are a great daddy to your little girl ,and Liz would be so proud of everything you have found the strength to do. My heart continues to go out to you and Little Maddie. Thank you for sharing with us.
Wow. They did a great job. Everytime I see that picture of Liz looking at Maddy I cry!
What a great segment. Congratulations; it’s very apparent that so much of your hard work is paying off. Liz would be so proud.
Hey!
Great segment! Keeping working magic. Awesome for LL foundation!
I agree that pic of Maddy and Liz is the best photo.
What do u say? “hey can I take a picture of u and my robot?”
Peope aren’t like ” ummm…no dude, sorry” and split soon after.?.
Just wondering.
LOL! Clearly Maddy was just totally freaked out by the interview
– That is one “out” baby girl! Great segment and love that the reporter posed with that dang robot.
Matt – have you heard of Jim Beaver? I am reading the latest issue of People and they did a book review of his new book, “Life’s That Way” and it sounded like you and he might have something in common (and strangely enough, his daughter’s name is Madeline also). It describes the book as “A Hollywood Widower’s Tale.” You are much more connected than I, so you are probably already aware of it, but if not, thought you might be interested in checking it out!
Thanks for keeping your blog updated – it is so wonderful to see pictures of you and Maddy having a good time together. I am always amazed at how cute she is! I have been reading this for more than a year now and I swear she is still cuter each time! You are still doing an AMAZING job!
