maddy went to
the dr. on thursday
for her 1-year appointment.
signed her in,
once again looking
up and down
the sign-in sheet,
noticing all of the
“mom” and “mom & dad”
notations written in
the column asking
who brought the
child in.
i was
the only
“dad” listed.
madeline played in
the waiting room,
on tuesday night i heard
something awful.
it has taken me
this long to write about
it because i have
no idea what
to say.
my friend
heather and her husband mike
suffered the most
unimaginably terrible loss.
they lost their child
maddie spohr
was a light
whose smile was unforgettable.
over the past
few months i’ve
read her mom’s blog
and smiled right
along with
maddie.
she was a friend
to my maddy…
