Hello, to all that will read this. My name is Carla Moneyham and I am a single mother of 5 children, ages 28, 25, 20, 18, and 15. I also watched the Oprah show when you were on and could not hold back the tears...at all...period. You see this story lands here at my house right now. My daughter (28) is the single-widowed mother of 2. She never had an actual opportunity to get married, but in their eyesight they were. Here is her story...my grandson at the age of 9mos (age 7 now) lost his father to a gunman...for no reason at all. My daughter was grief stricken...she turned to alcohol for consolation at the time and she said she would never fall in love again..I at that time had to step in and and tell her Remorrian is dead..you cannot help him now, however, your son Jemorrian is ALIVE and he needs you now more than ever. She came back to life....OK, so lets fast forward to late 2006. A young man who was trying for a year or more to win her affections, finally broke through the barriers around her heart and started courting her. They fell in love..quickly and began planning their wedding. However, one big glitch....Helana found out she was pregnant...so we had to move the date up a little...They found an apartment. The day they were to move in...my daughter went to work...came home and started putting the stuff up that Stanley had moved into the house. She became pretty tired around 10pm and told him she was going to go to bed, she had had a long day. So he decided while she was asleep to go downstairs to unload the moving truck and gas up in order to return it prior to the next a.m.

The next thing...is the tragedy....@ around 2:30a. she was awakened by a phone call..from Victory Hospital in Waukegan, IL. that they were life flighting Stanley to Milwaukee Hospital. She was still asleep and did not, nor could not understand what they were saying and why. Until, they advised her that Stanley was the victim of a robbery gone bad...and that he needed ER surgery to repair a badly ruptured vein. She was picked up and driven to Milwaukee, where she held a vigil during his intense surgery. He was brought out into the ICU recovery room, and she talke w/him, cried w/him and his family...however, 5 hours later he lost the battle and died.

Can you spell DEVASTATION...here she was approximately 4 mos pregnant with Stanley's child....and she was reliving a nightmare she did not ever want to have again. Lightning had struck my daughter 2x in less than 5 years.
She became depressed, lost her job, lost her car. Well on September 16th she brought my Grandaughter Jenarosity into this world...only 48hrs after burying my Sister her Aunt who died on 9/11/07. The reason I am blogging this, is because she and my grandkids are now back home w/me. Due to her losing her job, and now her apartment and she cannot afford gas to get around to find another job or find a babysitter. I am helping as much as I can, however, I have a debilitating case of Diabetes which requires 24 hour insulin. I to was downsized from my job after 9 yrs and it is only by the Grace of God that I am currently working. I had to take a major pay cut, but a job is a job. I was wondering if there was anything or if anyone can assist me in getting her some assistance in getting her life back on track. My email is Carla_Moneyham@dell.com or watchme5@comcast.net. Anything that anyone can suggest or refer us to...would be greatly appreciated. I want to take this opportunity to say Matt...Thank you for who you are and what you have done with your beautiful little girl and her Mom's legacy. I have 5 kids so if you need any advice on something...I would be honored to assist you. Thank you to all who will read this. God Bless...

Matt-
I found your blog through MckMama's and have been trying to catch up on your story (I read as much as my heart can handle for the day). Your blog is so wonderfully written and honest. My husband gets angry with me when I read things that make me sad, but I have explained to him that it makes me grateful for all that I/we have and not take anything for granted. I'm so sorry for your loss and I can't imagine doing this alone. My daughter, Olivia, was born on March 10, 2008 and was diagnosed a month later with Cystic Fibrosis. I started her blog as a diary for her to see how my husband and I did and her little landmarks. She spent her first 12 days in the NICU and has been hospitalized 3 times since then (2 for CF exacerbations and 1 time for Hand, Foot and Mouth disease which she got very bad). Anyway, I will now be checking in whenever you update. Please stop by (if you have a spare moment) and meet my Tooters (Olivia).

The 15 month mark was the kicker for us. Our angel son turned on us... he's still an angel (sometimes) but I remember thinking- REALLY? THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS? Madeline is absolutely beautiful.

LOL LOL - I went through this with Alexandra a few months ago. I thought for SURE she was possessed but some evil force! However at 19 months old (tomorrow) she back to the sweet, loving, child I birthed with the exception that she now has just about a full mouth of teeth, can say MANY words including "NO mama" and "Oh, shit" (i have NO clue where she picked that up) and she wont go to anyone man or woman unless they hold cookies or smarties!
