Oh poop!!! I’ve been looking forward to joining you at Lake Calhoun for the last few months but we’re going to be gone! I wanted to bring Vico for a reunion with Madeline. I’ll see if Bob will be able to bring him!
You getting the robot a plane ticket or you tranq’ing him and putting him under the plane? I wonder what TSA’s procedure is for flying with a robot?
@Caitlin
ha!

Can I just register for the race to get the tshirt? I live in NYC, so won’t be able to make it for the race…if anyone is running in Central Park again, I’m there!
@Joelle in the Chicago no more – in the NYC

Can’t help but think that Liz must have been an amazing women to have inspired such efforts. Best of luck.

This is so freaking awesome!! I am going to register and see if anyone in Philly will walk/run with me! New in town, so if anyone is interested email me @ Sabrina7408@gmail.com and we can start it up
I also posted something on the Liz Logelin foundation on facebook, so you can find me there too!
Done and Done. Can’t wait!
I really, really, really wish I could be there. Damn it. So far away. Do you have the t-shirt in Benjamin’s size too?
Absolutley wonderful! I hope I can participate in the Houston activities. Who would have thought just over a year ago no one knew you, Liz or madeline. Such blessings for what I know was a wonderful woman, we should all hope for such a legacy.
I’ve never before wished to live in Minnesota.
I think you’re doing an awesome job Matt and I’m astounded by your resiliance to turn this into such a good cause. I wonder if your dad speaks enough Dutch to come help out around our house
Hope you raise tons!
It’s really kick ass how much forward positive motion you engage in.
On my website I talk about searching for Single Dads doing the right thing. Joining with other single dads making a difference. You are a shining example
Hi matt! I already have the forms from the fan site on facebook. I’m going to be donating several Items! A couple really nice baby quilts also. Here’s my site for everyone to preview my work!
http://www.babylovedesigns.weebly.com
A little off topic , but I saw a picture of Judd Apatow , and I must say there is a striking resemblance . PS: Going to register and get out there and run here in Jacksonville , FL !!!
well since i LIVE in the mn, i can probably be there. will YOU be there, matt?
I’m sure it will be event overflowing with awesomeness and good times. Good luck and have fun!
Ok, first of all, Darcie & Kate competing for firsties just cracked me up!!!
I love that you’ve got the Sunday event planned as well as the walk on Saturday! Saturday is out for me, but I need to see if I, the introvert that I am, can work up to going on Sunday.
Are there any more MN followers who need a friend to go to the Sunday event with? if so, please email me at jilleneab at hotmail.com Maybe we could get a group of followers together to attend??
What a great thing you are doing.
I’m in CO (south of Denver) if anyone is down.
What a beautiful way to honor your wife’s memory…you have done so much in such a short amount of time. Congratulations. I will be walking with you (with little Miss Clare in a stroller!) in spirit from CT…good luck.
Can’t wait ot buy shirts for my family and walk for Liz–in Philly
You’re going to auction off The Fortune-Telling Robot? NO WAY. I may have to get some friends to go in on that with me. That’s awesome.
I’m going to try to make it! Not to far from me! Woohoo! I love Lake Calhoun too!
@ Angela in St. Paul
no! i can’t do that…he’s just going to make an appearance and read your fortune.
in hindi of kannada.
unless i can get a translation…
Awesome! I will certainly look for people in my area! I just wish I could get my fortune read by the robot. I actually was afraid the first time I read your post that you were auctioning him, Matt!
Wishing you huge success!
M&M,
This will truly be an amazing weekend you have planned. I live north of the cities, Cambridge, and have never been to Calhoun. We usually head north to ya know places like “Meat on Mille Lacs” and Paul Bunyan land and such. This will be a true experience for us! So looking forward to this event and will start fund raising this week. Thanks matt for this awseomeness you are doing…..
WOW!! What amazing things you are doing!!!
I want to do something!!! If I’m on the east coast, can I put the stuff up on my blog?? I’m REALLY “fundraising” illiterate — But I can learn!!
See that MN after my name? It means I’ll be dragging my 3 sons out for a 5K in September so the robot might want to make an appearance at the walk as well.
I am planning on participating in strolling through the garden of awesome, along with my 2 year old daughter, Adeline. I’ve already put something on my Facebook page to start trying to raise money for it.
My husband is a photojournalist and will be donating his time for a photo shoot for the auction. If you’d like to check out his work, you can do so at http://www.andyblenkushphoto.com.
I’m still trying to figure out what I can donate. Any suggestions? I usually make and donate jewelry to fundraisers, but I just won’t have the time to do that for this. (I’m a SAHM and student.) Do you think offering services like cleaning someone’s house would work? I need ideas!
I am a big fan of your blog and can’t wait for your book! I don’t usually leave comments but…
I found out about this book through a friend and instantly thought of you! How great is this?!
http://www.amazon.com/Crobots-20-Amigurumi-Robots-Make/dp/0740778277
I can’t come to the walk, but I’ll donate $$ to the foundation…..but only if you trim your beard ; ) Seriously.
Yippee!!!! my fam and i missed last year…we’re planning on making it this year. evan really, really wants to see maddy
Matt, thanks for the clarification! I’m a bit relieved, honestly, that you’re keeping the robot. I thought maybe you just were going to go for major $$$ for the foundation.
I will be in attendance.
However, count this as my official vote for the gala theme to be changed to the “Enchantment Under the Sea Dance” ala Back to the Future II.
I LOVE that you called alcohol ‘booze’ it’s such a minnesota thing! I grew up in Minneapolis & now live in Spokane WA, and I get mocked ruthlessly when I say ‘booze’…the jerks
kidding…
Sad to miss the event, I was just in MN 2 weeks ago. So great that you’re doing it though.
Now where’s my booze?
I enjoy reading the comments about nearly as much as I enjoy the pictures and your own posts Matt! Most responses are so incredible, so spot-on and so, so, real. I started crying the other day when I read for the 100th time someone wishing they could give Liz back to you. And even today, the joy, the excitement over the 5K and the silent auction. This is what the foundation is all about, For the Love of Liz- what we can do along with crying over what we can’t.
duh, I will be in India during that time. I am visiting India after 4 years else would have been a happy translator.
Matt,
Just a thought, today I set up some auctions on Ebay and they allow you to link your sales to donate to a non profit charity. I tried to do For the Love of Liz, but it’s not one of their listed charities. Might be something to look into getting set up…..
this might be a repeat comment here… cause I am thinking i screwed up my last-
I was just saying..
if any dvd’s or *anything* Seth Green signed or related made it’s happy little way to the online auction..
you would be making the eldest HF spawn a very happy wee teen aged girl.
and I mentioned my shear delight that my girl passes on the Jonas brothers and all the Efron stylin’ modern day clones for her desires..
she is a HUGE Seth Green fan.
best of Luck Matt…..I am looking around for auction items..
and i Hope we can walk again here….
off topic but I was just wondering what the name of your favorite lullaby cd is…you wrote about it once and i wouls love to check it out!
Connie
