llf tax exempt status = granted.

we are thrilled to announce that the liz logelin foundation is now a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation! the llf is the proud recipient of ein 26-3994826 and dln 17053110001049 (those may be my next tattoos). what all of this really means is that and we have been granted tax exempt status and that all donations made in 2009 are retroactively tax exempt (future donations are also tax exempt). thanks to everyone involved for all of their hard work and support. extra special thanks to our lawyer, kip p. , who worked his ass off the last 7+ months to get us here (and he did the work, pro bono…how awesome is that?)

just a reminder…

in less than one month, two very exciting events will be taking place. if you are in the twin cities, please join us for a stroll through the garden of awesome. the 5k run/walk will be september 19th at thomas beach-lake calhoun beginning at 10am. don’t live in the mn? you can organize your own walk! all of the information you need can be found here.

on september 20th we hope you can join us for the liz logelin foundation gala, a night to remember. the gala will be at the calhoun beach club and the festivities start at 6pm. there will be food, fun and both live and silent auctions! more information can be found here.

for those of you who can’t attend, there will be an online auction full of exciting items! gather your friends and have a great time while supporting a worthy cause (details to come).

thanks to all of the generous people who have donated items for the auctions. it’s not too late to donate an item or service. we will be auctioning everything from jewelry to graphic design services. no item is too small and they can be specific to a region or area. if you have an etsy shop, a timeshare or a special skill, then you have something to donate! donations are due by september 10th. please follow this link. for information on how to donate.

once again, thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm and support. we can accomplish great things when we work together!

i, along with maddy and the robot, look forward to seeing you in minneapolis in september.

    awesome news, Matt, so cool.
and in other cool news, i was searching the children’s place website just now for my kiddos and found a TOTALLY BITCHIN’ robot belt. oh yes, you heard me, a robot belt! it’s actually in the “baby boy” section, but there’s a couple different sizes and it would look totally cute with some jeans and a T shirt. It’s black, white, and red–PERFECT!!!!

I’m mixed with so many emotions right now. I have never posted a response although I read your blog weekly. You are such an inspiration to many Matt- especially your beautiful daughter who will admire you and respect you for the legacy you are creating in honor of Liz.
I am waiting to go home now so I can put my arms around my husband and tell him how much I love him. You make me realize the petty disagreements are so not worth it. I can’t imagine the pain you have had to endure but just know that you are such an inspiration to so many people…
