over the past few weeks a few of the women who follow me on twitter have been having a little bit of fun at my expense.
actually, they’ve been having a lot of fun at the expense of my beard.
they’ve been saying things like:
@Buck21 said: “I’m scared of the swine flu.Perhaps I’ll just curl up in @mattlogelin’s beard & hunker down for the duration of the flu season.”
@essembee said: “Any remaining shreds of my dignity? Hmm. Probably in @mattlogelin’s beard, with all the other hopelessly lost stuff.”
@rachelanna said: “$50 billion invested with Bernie Madoff…did anyone check in @mattlogelin ‘s beard?”
and my friend, sara jensen has taken to calling me, “beardo”
now, this beard of mine has been around for years, but it’s current incarnation has been growing for a few months, unchallenged by my clippers.
it has become part of the family.
i love it like maddy loves throwing apples.
(that’s a whole lot).
and while the teasing is all in good fun, i figured i could part with my friend beard just to shut these smart-asses up and raise money for the foundation.
so. i told the ladies that i would shave my face clean if we could sell 100 tickets to the liz logelin foundation gala by next friday, sept. 4th.
consider it a challenge.
(oh…and i’ll get a kate gosselin reverse mullet haircut and wear some ed hardy gear to the gala if we sell 200 tickets by the 4th. for reals.)
and finally, a letter to my beard:
dear beard,
i will miss you.
but this is for a good cause.
and besides, i can bring you back whenever i want.your pal,
matt
(and while you’re at it, don’t forget to sign up for the llf 5k).

Could we make it interesting and start up a ‘keep the beard’ fund?
It’s almost tempting to buy a ticket to something I can’t attend just to this.
I would definitely miss the beard too.
@Xbox4NappyRash
for sure!
Are you going to leave a food-filter mustache?
While the demise of the Face-Yeti is reason enough to buy a LLF Gala ticket, the possibility of you sporting the reverse mullet blows my mind.
What a brilliant idea.
Must have been someone mega-excellent who came up with that one.
::takes a bow::
I will have to find new ways to make fun of you now.
@male beecher
if there is demand for such an awful thing, i would consider it.
twitter hashtag #mattsbeard
?
No the the Ed Hardy. Just no.
Love it !!!! I think you will look great without it.. although I think you look great with it… would be a nice change to see how you look without it… I wonder if Maddy will recognize you once its gone… it may take her a few minutes to warm up to you with it gone.
Have a great weekend !!!
::pats buck21 on the back for playing the game so brilliantly::
If I had a rich uncle I’d totally hit him up for 200 gala tickets…maybe I do?!?
For all of you out of staters who can’t be at the Gala…feel free to still buy a ticket to “sponsor” someone who can’t get one on their own.
If I was closer to MN I so would be going. I am planning to remember 7 on the 7th though.
Maddy is adorable!!
Love the video of Maddy. I think you should have people cast a vote with each ticket bought…either it stays or it goes. But, 200 tickets = a kate gosselin reverse mullet haircut and wearing some ed hardy gear (and pictures of you appearing in that get up) is a must
The beard business on twitter intrigued me. I got my ticket, although I can’t go. I wish I could. Sending good ticket selling ju-ju to the llf.
okay, first of all …you do look like Jesus in these pics. secondly, put those rings in a safety deposit box already!!!
thirdly, i’m going to the gala just to see you without the beard so you have to at least leave it off until then.
fourthly (this is a word I made up I think), i will buy you a case of Preemo if you sport the Kate Gosselin hair-do.
Nice Jesus Christ pose in the last picture.
I think I’m with Xbox4NappyRash, there should be a Keep the Beard Fund. Please no mustache.
oooh, oooh, oooh! you have to let Maddy watch it come off or help so she doesn’t get scared. As long as your at it, why not go completely bald
Has she dented any cars with the apple throwing? All of our car dents are from baseballs.
Matt, long time reader, first time posting…Just wanted to pass on some information that others may find helpful to maximize donations to Liz’s foundation.
My company will be holding their annual Giving Campaign in the next month. I think many companies run theirs around the same time of year. Ours is an open campaign which allows us to donate to any 501 (c) 3 charity. The company matches employee contributions 50 cents on the dollar. So a $100 donation becomes $150. The Liz Logelin Foundation is getting my contribution this year.
Maybe some of your thousand’s of followers should keep your foundation in mind if there is a company campaign in the near future that allows employees to specify their favorite charity. And be sure to check with your HR departments to see if there are any processes in place to match charitable donations.
OK, I feel torn. I want money to be raised for the LL Foundation, but please DO NOT get a Kate Gosselin hair cut! Do you want to give Maddy nightmares?
Your beard is awesome! I bet it’s hot in the summer though, huh? Did you check it for ashes from the local fire?
I bought my ticket yesterday because of this challenge, even though I can’t go!
I like the beard ‘the old way’, and hope you grow it back (and keep it trimmed), but I really want to see you clean shaven…
Everyone, buy your ticket! It’s a GREAT cause.
All you needed was your snuggie for that last pic and you are Jesus Christo’s twin ahahahaha
I hope you sell them all! The “Kate do” and Ed Hardy clothing? I will be sad to not see it in person.
xoxoxoxo,
Tricia and Bella
Good for you! I would attend the gala and bring numerous friends if I were closer. What a wonderful cause!
Oh and please… anything but the Gosselin haircut. You know that includes some zebra-like highlights, right?
That is hilarious. A guy at my husbands work was trying to raise money for Diabetes research and he ended up having to shave his hair into a Mr T cut and have “pity the fool” tattooed on his arm! If I was any closer I would love to go to the Gala! Good luck
That video is too cute!
) So, if I buy a ticket but can’t go…who can I send/donate it to? Wish I could use it but I am so far away.
Love the challenge (well, not the reverse mullet/hideous clothing part…but I’ll still laugh if I see a photo of that!
I second the Keep the Beard fund. I’m rather fond of the Glen Hansard look.
Creepily – your stalker
Wow Matt! I just looked at the video and I can’t believe how many of Maddy’s smiles look like Liz’s smiles from your pictures… it really is breathtaking.
On a somewhat different note- I’m 32 and I have never seen my father without a beard… nor are there any pictures of him as an adult without a beard. As far as I’m concerned that is just his face. One day he got it trimmed… waaaay too close, I could almost see skin… I almost threw up, it walked and talked like my dad but it was totally NOT my dad… this reaction from a 30 year-old. Point is- Maddy may not recognize you for a little bit, she might think that’s how big your face really is! Good luck! I hope youu raise 300 tickets but I say, keep the beard.
I bought my ticket already, even though I won’t be going. I really don’t care for the Kate Goselin look much, but I do hope you sell as much tickets as possible..
Can’t wait to see the clean shaven face, Matt,,although I love the beard. Like you say; you can always grow it back! Not so thrilled about the reverse mullet, tho! Love Maddy’s apple throwing video. No throwing rocks, tho, Daddy!
Sell out, you should shave your back instead. That forest makes you beard look like Kojack’s bald head.
@Nappy! SHUT IT! DO NOT even humor Matt with the idea of keeping that thing! Although…if those FOR the beard could raise more money than those AGAINST the beard…we’d have to consider it…after all, it IS for a good cause…hmmmmmm
Can we buy a ticket even if we are not able to make it? I was planning on doing something for this event (donating), but wasn’t sure what else I could do seeing that I live too far and super busy mom of 3!
Even though the beard is not that bad! But uh you you look kinda like those Jesus pictures you see in churches!
Great idea
I agree with some of the others.. if it does come off, I’d have Maddy watch so she doesn’t get scared!!! i’m also seeing some gray in that beard!!!!!
I’ll try to get that ticket purchased before the 4th!!!!
Oh you’re so in for it, Beard! Our youth minister did this growing up…he said he’d shave if the youth could raise $500. We ended up having a serious competition the youth “Buy the Beard” campaign vs. the older adult “Save the Beard” campaign. Over $2500 later, the beard was gone and no one recognized him!!
I hope the LLF has as much success, although I am a bit frightened by the reverse mullet. Good luck!
WAIT!!!
Just found this:
Halloween may be four months away, but it’s never too early to come up with a costume.
And if you’re going as the sure-to-be-popular Kate Gosselin, don’t pull out the hair clippers.
The mom-of-eight’s signature reverse mullet can be yours at buycostumes.com – thanks to a wig.
The online costumer retailer is now selling the “Kate & Jon Plus 8″ star’s asymmetrical hairdo for $14.99.
Dubbed the “Eight Is Too Much Adult Wig,” the blonde hairpiece is “smooth and face-framing in the front with a short and puffy back that’s full of volume.”
The “sleek and so stylish” wig “will make people think you have eight children,” boasts the site.
Controlling personalities and ne’er-do-well husbands are not included.
Although Gosselin’s bizarre haircut has been heavily scrutinized, the mother of eight defended her ‘do earlier this spring.
“It’s my attitude! Everybody wants it. It’s work,” Gosselin told Entertainment Weekly.
She added, “It’s not going to work for everybody. I’ve seen people come through the book line with thin hair and [it] just won’t work.”
And for dads that want to look like Jon?
Just stock up on Ed Hardy t-shirts and blonde 20-somethings as arm candy!
so…maybe everyone attending the Gala can wear the wig?
Hey All – If you can’t attend but wish to do your part to rid the world of Face-Yeti, you can still buy a ticket and sponsor another attendee!
Email rachel@thelizlogelinfoundation.org for more information!!!
Long time reader, first time poster here–just a word of warning for you. When my DH shaved his beard off without telling me and walked into the room I literally screamed, then cried, then was mad at him until it grew back. Better let Maddy watch the process and still hope she doesn’t freak out!
It was looking a little Grizzly Adams lately. I wish I could go to the gala, throw a party on the east coast sometime too!
i will also donate to a “keep the beard” fund!!!! why don’t we see who can drum up the most donations – the haters or the beard lovers???
don’t you realize you’ll have to get a new visa picture??? or maybe they won’t let you into India.
This is awesome. Also, love the video.
LMAO!! Friggin hilarious!
The video is great, BTW. She is too cute!
I’ve been wondering about the beard. When I saw the Visa pictures my first thought was “Dude, you’re gonna get pulled aside in security for sure!”
When your daughter can use it to rappel off the couch, it’s time for a trim. That should have been your first clue.
In a related story, the ZZ Top guys are looking to add a band member….
(PS: Thank you for posting videos of Maddy. So many of us out here love your little girl, and getting the chance to watch her grow…start walking and talking….well, I consider it a privilege and am very grateful you continue to share her with us.)
*laughs* i’m curious to see what you look like w/out it, myself. unfortunately, i can’t come, seeing as i live in oregon. which is not too close to MN geographically speaking. and i am so poor that i can’t even sponsor someone. i will remember the 7 on the 7th tho.
I think you should get it Sam Beam length before you chop that puppy.
That little girl of yours has quite an arm!
Wow, I need to see the Kate mullet, lol
I can’t go BUT am interested in donating a ticket (to get you to your goal) because my hubs had the same beard & he thought it looked good. Let me know if there’s an option to get a fake ticke & move you on to your goalt! Luv Ya!
i don’t mind the beard, but it looks better trimmed.
maddy is cute as always.
I was at the Minnesota State Fair today at the Kare 11 area. The Momslikeme group is sponsored by them and they were handing out bags. I thought that was the online site you had gone to for advice after Madeline was born. I talked about you, thinking that of course they would know about you and Maddy but they had no clue. ( I looked up your past blog and it was actually “cribsheet” that you turned to for advice.) I briefly told them your story and about the LLF. They said that you should go onto their website http://www.momslikeme.com and post info about the gala. They would love to hear from you and would support you in your efforts to raise money. I hope this helps your cause.
Too funny. It does need to be done, and at least it’s for a good cause!
oh holy cripes. i have not laughed as hard as i laughed when maddie hucked that apple in a very, very long time. she is absolute perfection, that one. abba babba appla. HUCK!
i am so in for the next gala even tho dresses are kinda against my religion…gotta go to the VT instead this time. boo. but yay all the same.
We need to have Kitson make shirts.
Team Beard.
Team BeardLESS.
Thanks for sharing this latest video. She’s adorably gorgeous! I love her 2 lil barrettes
I can’t believe the beard is going. Did Liz love your beard?
Hey Matt-
Gail got me thinking. At my work(a local credit union here in Fresno) always finds any excuse to wear jeans on Fridays. We pay $5 per Friday and it always goes to a good cause(United Way, local schools, March of Dimes, etc). On Monday I am going to contact the person in charge of all the jeans days and tell her about the LL Foundation, hopefully we can get some serious cash raised for such an amazing foundation. I encourage everyone to do the same!
And I do have to admit that I have always wondered what you would look like without the beard, hopefully I will get to see what you look like without it.
When you told about Maddy saying “Daddy!” when she saw Fidel Castro, I laughed my head off. I’m still snickering now. –V
I think you should grow a handlebar mustache for the next fundraiser
this is hilarious. i wish I could afford a ticket to the Gala even though I’d never be able to afford to actually get out there.
I wonder if your jaw/chin are pale since they haven’t seen the sun in so long?? hahaha. the image of that in my head is fantastically funny!
I say let it go until you look like Billy Gibbons.
I vote for you to keep the beard but with a serious t.r.i.m. (And thankfully you keep the neck area cleancut and so avoid the Chewbacca persona). I like the beard.
@Matt
Done! I’ve donated the equivalent of a gala ticket in the name of saving the beard.
People, please save the beard.
-Martin
You make me proud to call you a friend…even if you have an off the wall robot collection and passport holders ;o)
I wish I could go to the gala, but I’ll be busy with a newborn
Goodbye, beard, I have no doubts those tickets will be sold
maddie is absolutely adorable. love your blog and you guys.
i think you should have a contest for best beard comment. the winner could get a signed copy of the above picture.
i wis i could sign up for the 5k but alas I live too far away to attend both the 5k or the gala. so instead I will donate to the “please get rid of the beard before Madeline starts to use it lift herself out of her crib fund”
please excuse my typos. geez.
The last time I saw you you were without a beard (I even have pictures)-at first I didn’t even recognize you with your beard! I can’t attend the events d/t my work schedule, bummer. Please post some pics, hope to catch up sometime
You look like Jeff Daniels from the movie Gettysburg!!!
Kate Gosselin haircut and Ed Hardy gear….who wouldn’t pay money to see that??? Great idea, Matt! And good luck, beard or no beard….you’re still a great dad either way, and that’s all that matters in the end.
So much for the Jesus Christ Superstar auditions. Sigh.
When you shave it, get a video of Maddy seeing you for the first time…my niece would not go near my brother after he shaved his. She did not know who he was at first. It was pretty funny.
I think I would miss the beard too! I’m not too fond of facial hair, but it truly suits you. If it’s for a good cause, you can’t pass it up.
Hahaha….the beard is getting a little lumberjack-esque. I wish I could go to the gala—you need to have something in L.A (and when I’m actually in town!)
you could also do it in stages, start out with shaving lightning bolts into it for a few days before you shave it.
You’re going to have to sign that girl up for softball as soon as she turns 4 :O)
I’m with Xbox – Please save the beard as I am a little afraid of the trauma it might cause our sweet little Maddy the first morning that a clean shaven daddy plucks her from her crib.
Support the beard people!!
I can’t go to the gala–can I just make a donation of the same amount and have it count?
You look like a Phat Jesus…
Matt, I vote strongly to keep the beard. When my children were little and were aware of our wedding photos for the first time, they said, “Mommy, that’s you because she has red hair…but who’s that guy?” Cleanshaven Daddy, of course! Their Dad has pretty much always had at least a moustache all their lives, some 34 years. I love the beard, but agree that yours needs a little trim..
All those who recommended having Maddy watch you shave (should you have to do so) are SO right.
Maybe you should just give your beard the Kate Gosselin reverse mullet.
Wish I could go to the gala…. will be there in spirit and will be watching the silent auction online. Question is…. how do YOU like the beard??? That is all that matters anyway…
Gail and Bridget- You are ::SO:: on to something. . . Thanks for bringing “the man” into helping out the LLF!! It would be so cool if others would do just like you are!
shave it! shave it! shave it!
this is my chant, and i’m stickin to it.
although i think it could be protective. the beard of protection. i think when someone beloved dies, you have to somehow mark yourself to show the world you are not the same.
I’m buying a ticket but live in atlanta so can’t attend. Reply to my post if you want the ticket donated to you!
Oh, and I vote to shave it off, but definitely in stages. Like others have posted, when my hubby was 3 his dad shaved his beard and scared Dan – lots of screaming and crying involved.
Dude, I love your beard. You look just like Sam Beam from Iron and Wine during the earlier years. Now all you have to do is catch up to him now by growing out a lion’s mane for your head hair!
maybe a compromise. Just trim the beard back to a normal length and promise not yeti yourself again. Don’t shave it all off, that would just be strange. But, if you do shave it, take the moustache too. You’d look like a criminal if you left it and took the beard.
We bought our tickets already and we can’t wait.
my dad had a mustache my entire childhood (hey, it was the 80s) and when he showed up to pick my brother and me up from daycare one day clean shaven, we refused to go home with him. hahaha… be prepared for maddy’s reaction!
Someone has undoubtedly told you this by now but you’re seriously channeling the guy on the cover of the Iron & Wine album Our Endless Numbered Days.
All I have to say is I love your fucking Jon and Kate reference. And your beard rocks. Are you going to keep it in a jar?
I can’t afford a gala ticket, but it’s just as well — because if it makes you happy to have the damn beard (or even just not cringe-y and uncomfortable), I think you should keep every last hair, and grow it to your toes. (And not just because of all those studies that show the benefits of having pets…)
Nothing personal, but as long as you’re not bawling, I don’t give a flying fuck what you look like! I just want to see you (and Maddy) as happy and comfortable as possible. And besides, you know you’re going to get just as much ribbing for looking dorky without it as you’re getting for looking unkempt with it. (And what’s Maddy supposed to practice braiding and hair dying on if it’s gone?? Not to mention the hassle of traveling with mismatching visa photos…)
So when I send in my registration for two for the Walk tomorrow (sorry, two is all I can swing, so Bailey’s going to crash!) please credit it to the do-whichever-you-want column.
See you next month!
(oh…and i’ll get a kate gosselin reverse mullet haircut and wear some ed hardy gear to the gala if we sell 200 tickets by the 4th. for reals.)
Dude, fellow Dlister?
SAVE THE BEARD!!!
SAVE THE BEARD!
However, I would like to see the reverse mullet.
Matt: After going back to the begining (3/24/08) and looking at you in past pictures I really think you should be happy to shave off the beard. Poor Maddy, she doesn’t get to see the face her mother fell in love with. Really, you look 100 times better without the beard. I hope the foundation sells at least 200 tickets.
Have you had time to watch the video yet? Would love to complete it with your music of course and maybe you can play it at the Gala Dinner. Let me know what you think.
Give maddy a kiss from her Chicago Friends. Hope to meet you guys soon.
Rosann
I can’t believe those women said those things! That’s not nice. At all!
I do, however, think a clean-shaven face would be nice, as it’s been very, very hot here in L.A. Maybe it would help keep you cool???
I’m feeling slightly ashamed now! I’d just like to point out that my tweet was more of a dig at myself than at Matt’s beard, which I have just shown to my mum who says she loves it and that it makes him look like Ulysses S. Grant.
years ago my husband shaved his he’s-had-FOREVER goatee off. i not only didnt recognize him, my kid freaked out that there was a burgular in our house when we arrived home.
for the love of all things holy, at least trim it. LOL
(ticket purchased weeks ago)
burgular/burglar … use spellcheck when writing your book. i know i will when i write mine.
@ Sarah–Myself, I was just wondering when Stonewall Jackson started his own blog.
I know that picture with the horse heads was for me. Don’t act like it wasn’t. I may have to sponsor a gala ticket or two. Just so I can make fun of your hairless, ed hardy wearin’ ass in September.
The costume store just dropped their price to only $12.99!
I’m torn about the beard. Current state–NO; trimmed–maybe. I will miss reading about the things in Matt Logelin’s beard on Twitter. I’ve burst out laughing at work and need a diversion and pondering what could be lost in there is highly entertaining. Whatever happens, just let Maddy watch, ‘k?
AWESOME! I hope you shave it off and leave it off. I have been reading this blog since April/May 08 and have been waiting for you to shave it the whole time. I know you are going to look great without it. I wonder what Maddy is going to think of you! Hope it goes well…
Hey Matt,
I can’t contribute to your fund right now…but they say guys look ten years younger w/out a beard (simillar to a woman who colors her hair b/c she’s got some grays).
GOOD LUCK!
Your face is going to be SO cold!! Whenever my boyfriend shaves off his ‘stash and goatee he always says his face is so freezing and says “why did I do this!?” and then decides to grow it back and keep it forever. Hopefully it won’t be cold that day, but I am sure it’s going to feel really weird!
LOVE the passion, you will do anything, even the “Kate” reverse mullet and all for a good cause!
You are so going to be shaving that beard off!
Woooo that is some serious beardage yo. I dig it but it seems a bit out of place without an enormous beer gut to complete the look. I say get cracking on the beer gut.
After reading my post from last night what I mean’t to say is you look alot better with your beard shaved close to your face. The only picture I remember seeing of you without a beard was when you were in high school.
Welllllll did you get a chance to look at the video?????
A simple yes or no is all you need to say!!!!!
Dear Matt: Hagrid called, he wants his beard back.
And could we please get a pic of you with your beard and some wild hair as well ? Get a little hair product and get busy.
Please wear affliction shirts. That will be priceless.
Here might be another option Matt: my girls said they had two daddies…a winter one and a summer one, because in November, he started his beard on one daughter’s birthday and wore it all winter. Then, in April, we all watched as he shaved it off – on our other daughter’s birthday! Clean shaven/bearded…he was beautiful both ways. And they were never caught off guard or afraid of the change in him. This idea might work for you too! I like your beard like the one you wore in April 2008.
How much has to be sold if you promise it never comes back?
LLF is now #2! http://www.ilovechristiecookies.com/contest/results.asp
Matt-I am one of your blog “strangers” who never comments. I am in Nashville, home of The Christie Cookie-and an employee of a local nonprofit. As I am sure you know Christie Cookie is doing a large cash giveaway and I was shocked and excited to see Liz Longelin Foundation number two in the charity giveaway. With a week left in voting-spread the word!!!
I can’t make it to the gala! Darn CA zip code and all. However, if you decide to go ala Kate Gosseling, I will give up my Starbucks addiction for one week and donate all the money to the foundation. Trust me, I have Starbucks at least twice a day so it is a pretty good chunk of money plust I love Starbucks and I will be on withdrawls
You can quote me on that.
Hey, Matt! I just voted for the Liz Logelin Foundation at The Christie Cookies site. Did you know that your foundation is listed with the second highest amount of votes so far? CONGRATULATIONS!! Everyone who reads this site needs to go vote. We can’t let Maddy and Matt’s wonderful charity be outdone by the Young Singers Foundation out of Tulsa, OK (the current #1).
Hi I just saw you on oprah it was on today in the netherlands, where i live.
I am really touched by your story..i wish you and your beautiful girl love and happines.
You are doing a great job, hang in there, you inspire a lot of peope all over the world.xx danielle
There’s an extra $100 in it if you shave one-half of it off (I leave it to you; either from the mouth down or up OR the left or right side) AND you’re seen (aka photo-documented) in public for a min of 1 hour (somewhere busy dude). evil, i know.
And PS > Eh, it will grow back in time for Christmas, yes? Think of the kiddies.
where you at with your ticket count? I can’t get mine until Friday.
But…but where will I hide?
Gail..thanks for the kick in the ass! My company does the same thing. I just updated my donation this year to the Liz Logelin Foundation and I am spreading the word. Thanks again Gail!!
your last picture in this post kinda reminds me of Jesus…
only with short hair.
Can’t you up the bid by allowing someone to decide if you shave it, how you shave it, if it gets shaved into the shape of a robot, etc? I say auction the fate of the beard off at your gala. I’m sure the twittering ladies would agree that this is much more fun. You could agree to put the beard up for auction if the women sell the requisite number of tickets.
I haven’t been here in SO long. Maddy is SO BIG now and just beautiful. I loved seeing her throw the apple. All kids LOVE throwing food.
LMAO at the beard comments. That is GREAT!
hey matt i read your blog often, im expecting my first baby due in january and my crazy preggo brain sometimes reads celebritybabyscoop.com and guess what I saw?? The Liz Logelin Foundation ad – FANTASTIC!!
Had a teacher once who shaved his beard……his daughter didn’t know who he was!!!Haha…..might want to let Maddy watch!
Bless your heart, you are a wonderful father
Just be warned. . . Maddy may be scared. My husband had a beardsimilar to yours one cold Minnesota winter (he claimed it was because it kept him warm, I think it was because he was too darn lazy to shave). When he finally did shave (head and beard both) and came downstairs my 18 month old daughter wouldn’t quit screaming. She kept hearing Daddy’s voice, but it was coming out of some younger-looking version of Telly Savalis (pardon my spelling). It took her an entire day to warm back up to him. Let us know how it goes. . .
Is there any way we could pay you NOT to get the Kate Gosselin haircut? Once on her was enough.
I can’t WAIT to see this
I think you are equally cute with or without beard. My dad is also fund of growing beard like that so I think it’s cute. LOL…
Have a great day!
Ok, I read your posts often but have never commented, but this just has to be said!
You’ll be happier when I’m gone
I’m much too busy to worry
I’ll be sad and you’ll feel bad
But I know you won’t be sorry
And as I turn to go
Please don’t wave goodbye
I refuse to cry
On roads that are paved
With men who behave
Like they know where they’re goin’
And I’ll stop along the way
And it’s then I’ll think of you
And I’ll wonder if you knew
When I got blue
And things got weird
And I started growing
Bob Dylan’s beard
it is fantastic to hear you laugh, matt.
Good!!! I have to say, I’m glad the beard will be gone!!!!
It is a bit long! very good reason to shave it off though! Love that last picture!
Maddy is getting so big she is really steady on her feet!
I know I always say this, but wow she is cute! Coming from a mom of 3 boys, her noises are just so lady-like:)
Anyway, I wish I could attend the gala, but we live in SoCal too, and I don’t see us traveling to MN anytime soon. Let’s do one in LA!
Also, if you get close to 200, I would really considering buying tickets just to see the reverse mullet!
Ya telling me that El Barbudo is no more?
Crikey. I’ll keep reading. Pronto.
Sorry the link I sent you on twitter didn’t work.
Here’s a new Job for you:) This Co. is launching in October… just in time for you!

That is awesome. Hope the tix sell. I think you will look much younger with no beard/mustache. I just got 13 inches cut off my hair. So, I am with you there, lol. Good luck, Matt!!!
How come no one has posted that those horse statues look like Joey’s dog statue in Friends?
I love the video of Maddy! She’s getting so big!
Love the beard!! Although, I think you would look great without it. Do a before and after picture if you ever decide to shave it off.
