as aj mentioned in the previous post, we’ve made a few changes to the blog, one of which includes hosting photos on my site. there are a few reasons for that…
1. comments – before, you had to be a registered flickr member to comment on a photo. now everyone can comment.
2. voting – you can now vote for the photos you like by clicking the words, “like it?” at the upper left of the photo.
why are these two things so important?
well, i’m working on a really, really cool project at the moment, and i want your help in picking out a photo of maddy and me from the first year of our lives together…
i’ll let you know more about the project as soon as i can, but for now, click on the “all images” link to the right of this post (or click here to see them), and vote for the photo(s) you like. you can vote for as many as you wish, but you can only vote once per photo (i think).
oh, and the voting needs to be finalized by noon pacific time on monday, sept. 14th, so get your votes in. (that said, the voting mechanism will remain in place even after the deadline).

The new design looks fabtastic, but sorry to hear you’re ill.
My theory: The beard and mustache filtered out all those nasty germs that float around, acting like nose hairs for your whole head. (Some might say looking like them, too!) So no wonder you got sick — you shaved off your face cilia! Better either grow ‘em back before you head to India or go Jain.
Yeah, that was a hard call. But I voted for the one of you two sitting on the log facing the water. I think the photo speaks volumes. And if this is for what I’m wondering if it’s for, I think it’s perfect.
Is there some way to get a layout with a next button? That’s a lot of pictures to plow through and I want to be able to see them larger than thumbnail size.
So, yes, you are right, you can only vote once per IP address… But that also means that either my husband or I can vote… not both of us!! poopy….
And, putting a next button in the larger view would have been a great feature so you can go thru them in large format quickly…

I love all of these pictures, they are all so Matt and Maddy. I did manage to pick a few and vote- and then I went back more than once to one picture, third row, all the way on the right “happy” and kept clicking that I liked it. I mean, I really like that ONE. Just thought you should know that I am the one who put it over the top, probably up in the millions before I get done-
and hey, Maddy in her hat? I do love that one, but there is another one of her on the steps that just takes my breath away- in all fairness you should put that one up so I can give it a few zillion hits.

yes, i’ll still be using flickr, and aj will be adding a link to flickr soon, but i’ll also be hosting photos on my site so everyone can post comments/vote.
I think this is an impossible task. I would have to vote for all of them. Really, any photo with Maddie in you cannot help but like.

Hi – just a note to say that things are really not working correctly on this site tonight, and I am assuming it is because the site is still under “reconstruction.” Just in case it isn’t, thought you should know. The links here do not work properly. When I tried to locate posts to show some photos of Liz to my husband so he could see how much Maddy looks like Liz, the links which should have taken me to posts about Liz didn’t. I found a couple using the top link to “Liz and Matt,” but there are other pics scattered about in the blog posts which I could not get to.
Great photos here of you and Maddy. The last one of Maddy with the hat is stunning. Should be a cover photo of a magazine – send it in! Maddy is just beautiful – as was her mother.

I voted on the pic of you two looking at the ocean. Love it. However, my most favourite pic wasn’t there: it’s a black and white of you, Maddy, and the robot. The three of you are sitting on the floor in front of a bookcase.

Loving the new look Matt and also loving you with a tame beard. It was getting as little out of control before! You look great with it shaved but if you grow it back (when you grow it back) tame that thing will ya!

Actually one of my very fav pics is the one where Maddie is just a few months old (if even that old) and you have your suit on and are holding her in front of you. She’s also dressed up…you two must have been on your way to a wedding I think (?). I think it’s a picture that Gina took actually.

Looking through the pictures I was REALLY struck by how difficult your year must have been, and yet, you forged ahead with such strength and grace.
It must sound so patronizing coming from a stranger, but I am in such awe of you…what you have done with your life under unimaginable stress and sadness, what you are doing for your daughter…giving her what she wants and needs the most…yourself. The life experiences you are giving her are priceless.
I wish you the best as you move forward, as you build a life for yourself and your daughter and as you make new memories.

Today Andy is feeling the pain only you could begin to understand. I’m not sure if there is a way to contact him but I’m sure the journey you and Maddy have taken thus far, just might be one someday he would be willing to hear. His wife was just escorted home by St Paul PD from the Mayo Clinic. (she qualified as a donor) Thank you once again, for letting strangers like me to have a small glimpse into your life.

The new site photos and design rock!!! I’ve truly enjoyed tagging along on your blogging journey. It’s funny, I can actually think of a few more “favorites” that you’ve taken over the past year. I can barely remember what I did yesterday, but I remember a photo that I saw on your sight from November of 2008…odd. Not sure if it was ever in your “master plan”, but you are amazingly skilled at connecting with your readers and involving them in your journey…very cool!!!

Wow! I was very thrown by the new layout, I love the new picture in the banner tho and the new colors, very nice.
I am so sad I was not able to vote on the pictures, I just came back to work from maternity leave *sigh* and have been busy, but I do check up on you two on a regular basis ever since February 09; i found your blog thru STORKED i was preggers at the time and just so touched by your writing and your pictures, you have inspired me to live every moment fully, take more pictures, read more, write more and not to get mad at my husband for little things that really don’t matter, you have inspired me to again be the person I was a long time ago. i just wish you weren’t so sad, i wish none of that stuff happend to you and that you had the life you dreamed of. life sometimes just really sucks. but you, you are awesome my friend and that litle kid of yours, she is awesome too!

I know you have found strength and encouragement through the blogging community in days past, and I am sure you will do so in days ahead as well. Another daddy blogger has suffered a loss, as his wife just died. They have a 3 week old baby girl named Chloe. I just hope that if anyone knows what to say to comfort him in this time it’s you. Your journey as you raise your beautiful daughter is both inspirational and heartwarming. You are an amazing example of what any mom would want for her baby, should she not be present in her childs life.
I’m sure I am not the first to tell you about The Sullivan Family. If nothing else I know you can relate, understand, and encourage.
