wearing a promise.

thumbnail

long ago i

made some promises.

there was one,

that was replaced

by another.

and though she’s

gone, the promise

still stands.

she would want

that for you.

and so do i.

so yesterday,

i went to a

place i went to

many times

for your mom,

and made good on

the promises

i made those

years ago.

and you…

now you are

the one who

will wear the promises

i made to your

mom.

Considering that some of them have made it down to her forearm, I’m assuming those are adult-size. The ones that are on her wrists seem child-size. If that’s true, I hope you keep those for her in safekeeping once she grows out of them so she can give them to your granddaughter as a connection to her grandmother.

    Thanks for the updates!

I have read your blog from the very beginning. You are doing an amazing job and a baby is never easy even with two parents sharing the baby chores and necessities of life. Maddie is beautiful and looks so much like her Mommy. She seems so happy and well adjusted. Enjoy your trip and make many memories together.

I am really enjoying your ‘new’ way of presenting your photos and adventures! Refreshing and fun! I like seeing through your eyes what caught your attention and your photos tell a great story every time. I love the balance, color, detail, humor, settings – everything! It all draws me in. So glad you are over there. Smiling. Writing. Sharing. Relaxing and making new memories. You chose well so you and Maddy and Rachel have great teamwork! Such a generous man to give Rachel this chance of a lifetime. And to carry through your promise to honor the two women in your life. Bangles! Perfect!
