light.

i see

the particulate of the

world outside the open window,

finding it’s way inside,

dancing in the light

of the room,

the way it used to

when i woke up

in the light.

for so long i’ve awoken

before the light,

to the sounds of

of the dark.

with time now nothing more

than a source of confusion,

the light, and not

the dark,

is what

i wake up to.

and the memories of

those particles,

some slow, some with

great speed, floating through

the light and disappearing

into my room.

today,

i remembered what it

was like to wonder.

I’m feeling so sorry for the other readers of your blog that they have not discovered your “Easter egg” – but so happy I have! I think the posts in this section are some of your best – you should be selling these to musicians…a la votre.

Oh the light, the glorious light. Granted my own personal perceptions and experiences influenced the way I read this poem, but I think it is so beautiful. I know that when I went through a dark period of my life, I ached to see and to feel the light – I searched it out, feeling it taunt me. When I felt its return, I felt utter and total bliss. Thank you for this wonderful reminder. Reading this has brought me back to that time. (of interest…my daughter’s name means the returning of light).

Happy Birthday Maddy! 2 is wonderful!

As I get older I learn how good it is to have children and love to keep reminding me to stop and look and wonder… Truly happy that you have had two years with your beautiful girl and sad that she has missed it and happy that good surrounds you both still…

Thanks for reminding all to live fully, love wastefully and not to be “dumbed down and numbed by time and age”…

I have finally discovered your Easter Eggs – they were worth the wait. I can’t believe what a gifted writer you are. I love your writings about light, although I have to say I love all of your writings. Amazing. Powerful. Beautiful.
