it’s friday, and some of you may be visiting my blog for the first time, thanks to my appearance on a rerun of oprah.

(for those of you who’ve been with me for some time, sorry for the recap).

lots of things have happened since i appeared on the show back in 2009…below you’ll find some of the highlights. if you want to read from the beginning, start by clicking here.

first, the foundation that was briefly mentioned has gone from a pipe dream to a full-fledged non-profit organization that (to date) has provided no-strings-attached financial grants to 72 families around the country. if you’d like more information about the liz logelin foundation (including information about our upcoming fundraising events, links to make tax-deductible donations and/or volunteer), please click here.

second, i quit my job, moved to india with madeline for a couple of months and wrote a book about the first year of my life without my wife liz and with madeline. it’s called two kisses for maddy, and it was published by grand central publishing on april 14th, 2011. it spent 5 straight weeks on the new york times bestseller list (much to my surprise). if you’re interested reading the book, you can purchase it in (among many other places) your favorite book store, your local target store (in most locations) or from any of the following online retailers:

(there’s also an audio book, available wherever you find such things).

third, i met a wonderful woman named brooke. she now lives with us in los angeles. click here to read a blog post i wrote introducing her to my readers.

finally, my daughter madeline is now a little older than three, and more than ever, she is the reason i get out of bed in the morning. here are a few photos of her from the last couple of weeks (she looks, and acts exactly like her mom, which is pretty incredible because liz never got to hold her).

leave a comment (no need to say anything profound. a simple hello or whatever will do) and you’ll be entered to win a signed copy of my book. i’ll choose a winner at random (this giveaway is not limited to new readers, so everyone can fire away).

oh. and just one final note. for those of you in northern california, i’ll be reading this sunday, june 19th (yes, father’s day) at 2:00pm at the pleasanton public library (400 old bernal avenue pleasanton, california 94566 – 925.931.3400). hope to see you there.
