when i found
out i would be
the father to
a girl, i worried about
a lot of things.
and in spite of
everything i learned in my
sociology and feminist theory
classes, i sort of
took gender roles
for granted, assuming
like many parents do
that my girl would
be into “girly” things.she would wear nothing
but pink, play with
dolls, read “girl” books,
and want to be the princess.
i dreamed of turning
her into a tomboy
(you know, to keep her well-rounded)
and figured she
would resist all attempts.
over the last
year or so
her personality
has really developed
and i’ve re-learned
(re-remembered?)
that there are people
outside the house
that can (and do) influence
her behavior more than
i do.
at her school,
she’s with a bunch
of boys who are
a little bit older
while all the girls
are younger.
if you have kids
(or if you remember your childhood)
you know that they
tend to look up
rather than down,
so thanks to the
boys at school,
my daughter is a
total tomboy,
but a tomboy i was
totally unprepared for.
i was ready to
teach her about baseball
and football and fishing and
all of the other
“boy” things i did
when i was a kid, but
she’s way into
comic book characters,
superheroes, star wars
and other shit
i know nothing about.
(thankfully brooke is into star wars and can handle maddy’s questions and can correct me when i incorrectly identify one of the characters).
a few weeks
back her mind was
completely blown
when she found a
batman mask ready
to be cut from
the box of her favorite
breakfast cereal,
and no matter where
on earth you live,
you probably heard
her squeal when i
pulled a batman
comic book from
inside the package.
(“squeeeeeeeeeee! dad! this is soooooo cooooool!”).
a few days
later brooke bought
her a t-shirt with a
bunch of superheroes
on it, and when madeline
chose it as her
shirt for the day, she
spent the entire
drive to school asking
me questions about
the superheroes and their
personalities and super powers…
questions i couldn’t
answer for her
other than to say
that the hulk turns
green when he’s angry
(i know nothing about wolverine or the other superhero on her shirt, whatever his name is).
so in hopes of
getting her questions
answered, i took her
to a comic book
shop to ask the guy
behind the counter
all the questions she
could think of.
but when we got there,
there wasn’t a guy
behind the counter,
but instead, a young woman
who looked
like the kind of
apathetic, child-hating
hipster typically found
in that neighborhood.
maddy eagerly hit
her with questions
about batman, wolverine,
green lantern,
and all the other
superheroes she could
think of, and the woman
answered her questions
enthusiastically, pulling
out age-appropriate
comic books for maddy
(i didn’t know such things existed, but maddy now loves her tiny titans comic book).
i stood back,
trying to learn all
that i could
my heart melted
when she looked
at me with those
thankful eyes
she has when
she’s really, really happy
and asked me to
read to her.
we sat in that
store for 35 mins,
each page i turned
led to more
questions, which led
me to say over
and over again,
“i don’t know, maddy”
which led the woman
behind the counter
to smile in our direction.
i left maddy alone
to read
while i
paid for the books
she chose,
and thanked the
woman behind the counter
for helping me out.
so now i’m trying
learn as much as i
can about comic books
and superheroes
so i can be
a better father.
but just when i
think i’ve figured
things out,
i’m reminded that
gender identification is
malleable and our
assumptions are bullshit
because i found myself
sitting with
brooke and my little tomboy,
getting my first pedicure.
and i fucking loved it.
…
maddy’s fourth birthday is less than a month away, and thanks to some scheduling conflicts, we have already made our visit to the doctor for her annual checkup. as usual, the person(s) who guess both her height and weight correctly, i’ll send you a copy of my current favorite book and a copy of my current favorite album.
for those of you who live in countries that use the metric system, please feel free to submit your guesses in metric units of measure…i will do the conversion for you.
here are some hints:
at her 3-year appointment, she weighed in at 29 pounds and was measured at 36.375 inches, making her roughly 61% of her mother’s adult height.
here are four charts that probably won’t help you with your guesses:
the first shows her weight since birth:

the second shows the percentage change in her weight from the previous dr. visit:

the third shows her height since birth:

the fourth shows the percentage change in her height from the previous dr. visit:

contest ends next monday march 5th at noon pacific time.
good luck.
(oh…and if you’re in the los angeles area, don’t forget to join us for the llf bowl for hope event/fundraiser on march 1st).

OMG another little girl that likes Star Wars. My 4 1/2 is obsessed! I made her some Star Wars Peg dolls and she loves them! I can send you a photo of you would like to see them. I have also seen super hero peg dolls too that are pretty cool!
Yeah for girls that like other things than princess…which my daughter does still love. I am just thankful for a reprieve.
32 lbs, 37.29 inches
I love that she loves comic books. I’m a girl sandwiched between two brothers, and I developed my own taste for comics, Star Wars and pedicures
Hi Matt, Maddy and Brooke!
I love reading your posts…
Here are my guesses:
Height: 39.75
Weight: 34.69
I wish you all the best!
37.5 lbs, 40.5 inches
37.75 inches
32 pounds
My 4yo daughter is all about Toy Story. For Halloween last year she was Buzz. She does like girly things too, like clothes & shoes.
As for guessing Maddy’s height & weight, this is a little tough for me. My daughter just turned 4 on Dec 26, and the Dr says she is the size of a 5.5yo (she was 43.5 inches & 50 lbs at her appt. I KNOW.)
My guess for Maddy is 38 inches & 32 lbs
38.23 inches
33 pounds
40 lbs, 40 inches.
Keep getting those pedicures… Brooke will appreciate it.
Love the pedicure pics !!!
My guess is that she is 37.5 pds and 37.8 inches.
How did she go down in height? I noticed a negative in the percentages from her previous drs appt…. just wrong measurement?
33 pounds and 39.2 inches! Love the blog today! Isn’t it funny how often the things our children love tend to surprise us! For a good year, our oldest loved and carried around a hot pink flexible ruler! Who knew!
37.5 inches and 32.2 pounds!
she is so badass.
Liz was really into Star Wars too.
I’m guessing 33 1/4 lbs and 39 1/2 inches tall. :0)
I have a daughter that is totally into star wars and super heroes also. Her favorite gift ever was a lightsaber. After two boys I was thinking pink clothes and fancy hairdos finally but it is pony tails and tomboy clothes instead.
32.23 lbs
38.35 in
I was a tomboy growing up, hoped my daughter would be too. (Especially since we are total comic book geeks here–ask us anything about superheroes, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc.)
But…she is much more into girly girl stuff…but she does like Buffy!
Love her mask idea!
My four year old daughter is as girlie as they come – wears dresses and wants her nails done. Her favorite show is Batman The Animated Series. Go figure…
34.5 pounds
38.5 inches
Love her, Super Heroes are awesome!
Guessing 35.6 lbs

This post is seriously awesome.
I have a VERY girly 5 yr old that needs everything to be pink and sparkly, but her dad has a Superman t-shirt that she loves for him to wear-then he’s Super Dad! lol

38 in and 31.5 lbs.
She is so cute! My daughter shares a birthday with your little one and will also be turning 4 next month!
These kids today…they keep us on our toes, don’t they!
And I can commiserate, as my 3.5 year old is in the “super hero” phase also…told me today that when he grows up he “wants to be a REAL super hero!” Who knows…maybe he will be!
My guesses:
31 lbs
38.25 in
She’s a smart cookie because Superheros are HOT!
Madeline is just bubbling over with personality. You must be SO proud!
38.2 lbs
37.8 inches
Weight is 34 pounds and height is 40 inches. Loved what she wears!
my 4 year old is kind of small but right now she is 32 pounds and 39″ so thats my guess. did you know you can double their height at age 2 and get an approximate measurement of their adult height- how does that make her compare to Liz?
Arent pedis so fun! Im thinking of having a pedis by the pool party for my 4 years bday and letting the kids pick their polish and get their toes painted and then swimming and keeping the polish and a pair of cool flip flops as their party favors (or maybe a painting party she loves art but pedis by the pool sounds so cool- maybe that should be my bday party
Wow. She looks sooooo grown reading in that chair. What happened to the toddler?
Congrats, she seems to be an awesome kid. And i’m still so freaking happy about you and Brooke.
You… give hope a good name.
I’d guess 33 pounds, 38.5 inches!
I love that she is so into superheroes! She should check out Flash (my middle name after my moms last name), not the craziest of superheroes but a fun one and a great costume!
I can’t believe she will be four, I remember reading your blog when she was just a couple months old. My guess would be 39.1 in and 34.75 lbs.

My guess for Maddy’s height & weight is 38.25 inches and 36 lbs.
You & Brooke are such good parents, letting Maddy be her own person & encouraging her imagination to run free. That’s such a gift Maddy will so appreciate when she’s older.
32 lbs, 37.25 in
Here’s my guess for dear Maddy’s height and weight: 39.2 inches and 34.5 pounds.

I love the girl in the comic book store. I love the name of the comic book store. I love that Maddy loves something that you can learn together. She is a joy, Matt. Thanks for continuing to share her.
34.50 pounds and 39.50 inches
My guess is 34.5 pounds and 37.8 inches. Maddy is adorable. Love this post.
Love the Batman stance. I’ve got a little tomboy princess (I was 100% tomboy so that part I get). The princess stuff is still new to me and that part I can blame on the girls at school. My girl went viral last year dressed as Superman (vs a Stormtrooper) when a random stranger snapped her pic.
Love seeing updated pics of your girl, she is, as usual, adorable (and badass).
My guess is: 37lbs 38in.
Here’s all you need to know….Batman’s the coolest because he’s just a dude with a bunch of toys!!
I’m still not sure how it’s possible that our girls are going to be 4. Four?!? Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, Charlotte is a total girly girl. Although, she has recently watched the entire Star Wars series and loved it, so maybe there is hope.
Anyway, my guess. 31.5 lbs, 38.25 inches. Probably way off, as usual!

My guess is 31 1/2 lbs

Dude, I simultaneously loved my Barbies and Legos (I’d play with my Legos so much, I’d have to take breaks because my fingers would be raw). I also refused to bait the hook and remove the hook from the fish’s mouth, but also rode a boy bike and loved exploring with my friends with a stick in hand. Aaahhh, to be young again.
My guess is 34.15 lbs and 39.44 in.
The show “Super Hero Squad” on the cartoon network is great. It helped introduce me to characters I have never heard of and re-introduce me to ones I did know of. It has fun stories and is geared toward littles. I watch a brother and sister and when the theme song comes on they “power up” by running from the kitchen to the front room over and over until the show starts. It is the cutest thing. This show may help you with some of your questions.
I don’t have a good estimation on kids’ weight/height yet so I’ll not embarrass myself by guessing but I am VERY excited about her enthusiasm for comic books, particularly Batman. I would personally be honored to geek out with a 4 year old girl about Batman. I have yet to venture to Secret Headquarters; I like Comics Factory in Pasadena best and for the ultimate geek out, Meltdown Comics on Sunset in Hollywood.
I know we only met once at your book signing but seriously, I have Batman answers I would love to share anytime!
Man, I hope I have a girl like Maddy one day!
I love that she’s a tomboy.
I love that you took her to the comic book store so her questions could be answered. That right there shows what kind of Father you are.
I love that you went with her and Brooke to get a pedicure. That’s awesome.
I can’t believe she’s going to be 4! I knew it was coming and it’s amazing how much has changed in 4 years. You’ve grown so much. You’re an amazing Father and partner to Brooke. Each time I read your blog, I smile.
Each time I see that beautiful girl, I smile. You’ve done so well, Matt.
Please post updates more often!!
More comic books for you and the geek girl recommended by a great GeekDad I know.

36 lbs

Glad to hear she’s found something to claim her own!
My boys love comic books too, and I like you did not know much, but I certainly have learned! She looks so cute with her mask on.
My guess on the weight front is 31 lbs and 38.25 inches.
Good luck with your little tomboy!
As always, Maddy is awesome. My Nicholas will be 4 in April and is all about the superheroes. Refers to himself as super nick and loves spiderman. We went to universal studios last week and he was in heaven. It really is a fun age. I love that Maddy had so many questions about the comics and her shirt.

I was a tomboy (I still only own one pink shirt, in memory of my Grandma) and if I ever have kids, I hope they’re ‘well-rounded’ too!
My guess: 32.5″ and 39.4 lbs.
It’s great that the comic book store employee was enthusiastic and helpful. She probably LOVED being asked all those questions by a little girl. I hope you’ll go back there often so they can cultivate a cute little relationship. I’m sure the employee would look forward to it every week!
39 lbs
40.25 inches
She is so awesome. My 3.5 year old has been very much into boyish things until the last 6 months or so. Now she is all about dressing up and princess stuff. She still loves the other stuff though.
Weight: 31 lbs
Height: 38 inches
32lbs and 38.5 inches
My daughter was the climb trees play baseball kind of tomboy. It’s a lot of fun to watch your child define their own path.
My daughters are 11 and 7, and they love hunting and fishing. The best was this year, my 11yr old shot her 1st deer on Opening weekend and by Monday she was at her dance class. It is great to be well-rounded.
Yea Brooke, for knowing about Star Wars!
My guess, 37.1 pounds, 39.9 inches.
This entry made me so happy! I miss these kinds of entries, reminds me of when Maddy was a baby and you’d take her to the record store all the time. I know you’re wicked busy so I don’t blame you for not posting as much as you used to. Seriously can’t believe how much Maddy has grown in the last 4 years.
My guesses are: 36 lbs, 39.5 inches.
So glad to see you guys are doing well! And also pretty jealous that Maddy is wearing a tshirt in Feb! If my whole family didn’t live in the north east, I’d be moving to SoCA in a SECOND!

Thats so great. A little girl I watch is way more in to superheroes than princesses and asked me to paint spiderman on her nails a few weeks ago. Also, I was very excited to see the batman mask picture because i made maddi that shirt! woo! hahah.
My lil 6 yr old Cecilia is a princess tomboy =) she likes everything from Disney princesses to starwars to Power Rangers and everything in between, she has two older brothers so she goes with the flow she love’s to be a tomboy at times and a girly girl other times and thats just fine by us =) So you go Maddy!

She is as smart as she is cute. The interests she picked will work her mind and body. Superheros are the best. Girls always like a ton more stuff than boys and are open minded.

I recently took my 4 y/o princess to get her toes done with me, and she INSISTED she get her finger nails painted so they would MATCH. I said NO, mommy doesn’t get her nails done to save money so you can’t either. Well, she won. And now she asks every week, mommy can I my nails and my toes done? I am like, what have I created?? Then yesterday she asked to go the jewelry store so she can buy a bracelet and a necklace. My goodness! I said a firm NO to that one, mommy will get that before she does. Boy do they catch on quick. I didn’t have my first pedicure until I was 25!! So, my guess on Maddy’s stats are as follows: 33lbs and 39 inches. xoxoxo- Lisa

38.25 inches and 35 lbs.

My 8 year old girl loves super heros too! Has since she was about 2. She now has her little sister loving them too. Nothing like seeing 2 little girls dressed as princesses running through the house with capes on pretending to fly and fight bad guys.
Matt, I feel ya….my six year old son is NASCAR obsessed. I knew NOTHING about NASCAR except to make fun of those who did know about it (never fear, I have mended my ways). He would ask me who drives number 29 and who drives number 36 and my answer would consistently be, “I don’t know, Carter, I don’t know Carter”…..now, I can safely assure you that when I am 98 years old and I can’t remember my own name, I will be able to tell you who drives number 20 and who drives number 24…..oh, the things we do and learn for our children
Awesome story.
My guess:
32.25 lbs

Hello, this is Julie, the girl from the Secret Headquarters. I found this post through the comicsalliance article: http://www.comicsalliance.com/2012/03/01/girls-comics-matt-maddy-logelin-superheroes/
I totally remember you guys! Maddie is adorable. Helping kids (little girls, especially) discover comics is one of my favorite parts of the job. Hope to see you guys again! There are so many great comics for kids out there, and we’d be delighted to answer any questions y’all have or help in any way we can.
Cheers!

These are total guesses, I’m out of my element here.
Maddy sounds like a super rad kid. You’re a lucky dad.
38.2 inches
33.6 pounds
All very cute!
I read your article with tears of excitement. I tuned in to comics when I was seven (1974, FYI) and they’ve made me profoundly happy since then. They also led me to greater things, like a degree in literature and a teaching career.
Kudos to the comic store clerk who helped you “geek out.” She deserves a raise, or at least a free box of girl-scout cookies.
I am going to “wild-card” guess that the exam height will be 6 ft., and weight will be pushing 210. Oh, you meant the kid. Got no idea.
Keep being a great dad. If you need more comic recs, let me know.
Matthew,
I’d love to send you a copy of this guide to DC Comics characters I wrote. I’m sure your daughter will get a kick out of it. Please send me an email and I’ll have it right out.
Best,
Randall
She’s so cute. Love her Vans (my son has the same ones…but I love them equally as much for a little girl). My guesses for her weight/height are:
33.5 lbs
38 inches
I have a lot of catching up to do on your blog because I’ve spent the past two years buried in research articles while pursuing a Master’s degree. I am happy to say I am done with that (back in December), and now I can read for fun again!
Maddie is as adorable as ever! Here is my guess for her height and weight: 40.25 inches tall and 35.8 lbs.
height 39 inches
weight 33.5
Can’t believe Maddy is turning 4. How time flies. She will grow out of her tomboy stage and when she is getting into fashion and make up, she’ll need to catch up with her again =P
I’ll say 32 pounds and 40 inches. Kids have a way of growing too fast
I will say… 34lbs and 37 inches.
I’m a guy who learned to read at the age of 3-4 through the sound effects in comic books. I don’t read or buy comics much anymore but they affected my life in so many positive ways and I’m glad you’re discovering some of them with your daughter.
You sound like an awesome dad and you have an amazingly lucky daughter to have a father like you.
I got here from the Mary Sue site. Just wanted to say you’re an awesome dad for reading comics to Maddie.
My little girl loves Star Wars too!
My guess is 33.3 pounds and 39.4 inches
Hey Matt! You know, there are many comics that adults can like too!
Charles Burns just recently finished one called Black Hole, which is available in trade paperback. Another is Fun Home by Alison Bechdel, which is a really touching memoir. There’s also Maus, Persepolis, Love and Rockets, Scalped, Mad Man, Chew, Rasl, Transmetropolitan, Y the Last Man, and Sandman.
I was just thinking that it might help you understand her love for comic books even more, if you had discovered a love for them. Either way, the writer who covered your story on The Mary Sue was right- introduce Maddie to Jeff Smith’s Bone. It’s an adorable adventure comic done in the same vein as old Disney comic books, which were beautifully drawn and had lots of adventure!
Happy reading!
Being an awesome dad.
You are doing it right.
I pitty the poor nerds when she grows up, I’m sure she’s going to break some hearts.
Geek girls, no matter the age, are a rare and awesome thing..
DK publishing makes kid- and adult-friendly encyclopedias with large colorful pics about Marvel and DC comics superheroes. Those might be fun to peruse together.
Also, it’s funny you mentioned Wolverine, as he is a grumpy, violent hero (totally inappropriate for young kids), but ultimately a good guy, who has a soft-spot for kids.
34 lbs 8 oz and 39 1/2 inches
Hey there, Matt,
Comic books?? Good luck learning all you can. Mine girl got into dinosaurs when she was about 3 and I had never known a thing about them (except maybe a Flintstones reference), but now I can name more than I wish to admit. She has also gone through a President phase, so I know more about the history of Presidents than I ever did in school. It’s amazing what they teach US! But hey, I’ll take dinos and dead presidents over barbie and princesses any day!
32.32 lbs. and 38.38 inches
If you really want to learn about comics, in a way that makes you understand why anyone should ever bother with them and what makes the medium in itself so fascinating, you should read “Understanding Comics” by Scott McCloud. It’s a very easy and enlightening read, as it is actually written as a comic. It will give you a lot of very interesting insights in many different areas of life.

As a tomboy myself – although, in my forties, I’m kind of getting into pink now! – I say go maddie! She is one awesome kid.
A book you may like – ‘All my friends are superheroes’ – not a long read, but individual. daisy xx

Loved this post! My 4 year old nephew is super into Star Wars right now–God forbid if I get a character name wrong! She is so absolutely beautiful Matt, you should be proud!
My guess is 33.25 pounds and 39.5 inches!
31 lbs 6 oz, 37 1/2 in
Don’t you love it when they surprise you?
My little one (who does like to wear my heels occasionally) surprised me, when, upon arriving at the Disney store (UGH. Husband’s idea), she walked right past the princess sh*t and grabbed Fozzy Bear, along with some rat from the Muppets. She seems to prefer all of the male muppets to Piggy as well.
My guess:
32 lbs.
37 inches.
I suck at guessing these things, though.
PS238 is a great all-ages book about a primary school for kids with superpowers. Some of the jokes may fly over her head, but overall I think she might like it.
My guess is 32.9 lbs. and 37.8 inches
Yay! I have a tomboy too! My guess is 40.5 inches and 33.2 lbs!
Just wanted to share from my experience – I’ve been collecting comic books for over 25 years. One day I took my 5 year old step daughter with me to my comic book store and purchased her first comic book – Sonic the Hedgehog. This was the beginning of a new adventure. My legally adopted daughter is now 14. Through out the years she has grown from comic books to mangas and anime. Now as a teenager she looks forward to going to comic cons and seeing all the cos-players. So just wanted to give you a heads up to what you might experience in the future and suggest taking your daughter to comic con. Comic books will never be the same again for you or her. ENJOY every moment.
here’s my guess:
weight 33 lbs
height 38 in
No guesses as to height/weight. I’m TERRIBLE at that sort of thing.
Wanted to weigh in with a suggestion for comic books for a little girl. Try the Super Friends line that DC is coming out with that’s geared for smaller kids. (Amazon has a bunch of these, which were bound into books with multiple comics in them. For example: http://www.amazon.com/Super-Friends-Justice-DC-Comics/dp/1401221564/ref=pd_sim_b_1).
Our daughter is almost 5 and has been hooked on these (thanks to her dad) for well over a year.
I’d highly recommend them for you and Maddy. Welcome to the world of super hero-loving girls!
Love the superheroes. I’m also learning tons about this whole new world for the sake of my little guy. He won’t watch movies, but loves the Lego Junior magazine, which has been all about ninjas and superheroes.
My guess:
38.875 inches, 33.8lbs
I’m not a good guesser.
38.12 inches tall
34 lbs.
can’t believe 4 is around the corner!!
35lbs and 39.5inches
33 lbs, 37.75″
I adore the fact that Maddy loves Star Wars! Make sure she stays away from those horrible prequels and sticks with the originals!
My daughter is a huge Star Wars fan. She’s 5 now and her level of knowledge is at a point where my wife had to sit down and watch the movies to be able to keep up with the conversations I was having with my daughter.
She tends to play with the boys in her class as the girls just don’t keep up physically. Unfortunately, being a girl, the invites to the boy parties don’t flow in like they use to. Especially unfortunate are the Jedi training parties.
I think I was more upset by that dissing than my girl. Her knowledge far surpasses that of most of those boys, she truly appreciates the story, and there is ALWAYS a need for a girl to be a Leia or Padame.
Stupid boys.
32.25 pounds
39..5 inches
I have two boys and now a 2 year old girl, and I too freak out about her being girly girl, since I’m nothing of the sort. No problem. She just wants to wear her brothers clothes and do what they do. And when she has her own ideas about things, I hope that I’m as supportive and imaginative as you are with Maddie. You’re an awesome dad! You inspire me. Thanks
We’ll be in LA the first week in April and I KNOW Connor would be more than happy to talk with her about superheroes and Star Wars. Barely a day goes by where he isn’t wearing some sort of Superman shirt or his Superman boots. I know you’re busy, but we’d love to see you! Happy (almost) 4th birthday, Maddy.
I came across these cookies today and thought you, Maddy and Brooke might have a lot of fun making them together. Enjoy! http://sugarswings.blogspot.com/2011/12/super-hero-gingerbread-men-and-women.html
I think she will be 16.4 kilos and 1.03 meters! She is sooo cute. If you are ever in monterrey my daughter would love to play withher!
My 4 yr. old daughter love Love LOVES The Power Rangers. Memba them? She’s super girly so it’s quite shocking but once you get her started, she will talk non-stop about them. I recently indulged in too much wine and woke up to an Amazon.com email informing me that my Power Ranger action figures had been shipped. Fun times.
Did you ever post the correct answer to Maddy’s weight and height for her 4th birthday? I can’t find it anywhere. Please let me know. Just curious as to the answer since the contest ended on 3/5/12. Thanks.
that photo of you guys getting a pedicure is awesome.
I love that you were so willing to sit in that store and learn all you could about comic book heros as well as get your first pedicure. I am almost 40 and I have never had a pedicure(and I most likely never will) – I am a total tomboy and my feet are so ticklish , so you have me beat! I am throwing in my guess for her height/weight
31.5
38.25
I suggest you check out Wil Wheaton’s blog (he was on Star Trek, the Next Generation as a teenager) http://wilwheaton.typepad.com/ .
He’s a very good writer and also a total geek and would probably love to answer questions you may have.
