monday morning.
5th day of the
new year.
we woke up,
rested and ready to
get back into
our routines.
maddy slept in
her clothes from yesterday
(yes, sometimes i don’t change her into pajamas before she goes to bed…does that make me a bad father?)
tuesday the 30th.
madeline awake, on her
hands and knees
in her crib,
just waiting for me
to wake up
and play with her.
we spent some time
together, just the
two of us,
before i had
to leave for the airport.
then it was
time to bring her
out to the living
room so the
g. grandparents could
watch her while
i showered.
looking forward to
getting away,
but a lot sad,
and [...]
christmas day.
9 months since
it
happened.
woke up
trying to forget.
spent the morning
watching maddy open
some gifts and going
crazy with her
older cousins at
grandma broccoli’s house.
woke up to
maddy talking to
herself in her crib.
wished her a
happy 9 months of existence
and smiled at her
for a while until she
reminded me that
what she really
wanted was not
a doting father,
but a bottle.
i fed her and then
handed her off
to the g. grandparents
so that i could
take a shower.
took a long one,
for the first time
