It is wonderfult to see all the support that you have. As being a new parent my self my son was born on April 14th. I am from Minnesota and live not too far from lake Calhoun. I really felt like contacting you in some way. I, too, lost my husband about 10 months ago, and I was left with 3 beautiful children. I felt like I lost everything, lost my life, my soulmate, my everything. My life is forever changed, and I guess I wanted to reach out to you and let you know that you are not alone, there are more young widows/widowers than you think, unfortunately, dealing with the same situation. It does get better, but it is a long journey. Surround yourself with family and friends, and they will be your biggest support. If you need a friend, I would love to talk, it helps me get through as well. You have my email! Good luck and you have a beautiful daughter!!! Many of the organizations that are attending the symposium have programs for widows/widowers too. The organization that I work for called Kate's Club (www.katesclub.org) has a social program for widows/widowers (vs. standard support group), but also have speakers to talk about raising kids as a young widow/widower, finances, etc. Anyways, since we are in the 'hood thought you may want to check it out. Could be great networking for your foundation and sounding board. Matt,
